Hamilton's best bet may be to go all in on a PWHL team. If the Takeover Game does well and with Ottawa likely looking for a new home, the Hammer maybe a great spot for a team to flourish.

The Forge have done well, considering the overall state of the CPL, and I could see Hamilton really latching on to a team in the PW.

NHL would be huge obviously but if Hamilton becomes a place where leagues with smaller footprints can thrive I think it makes them a great alternative to Toronto, the city with 1000 sports teams.

Between games during the break, I like to get distracted and play games. I quickly look for something on hotslots promo code and start playing, often win and immediately stop. Because the main thing is to stop in time.
Agreed. Hamilton supporting leagues like the PWHL could build a strong sports identity and thrive as a viable alternative to the overcrowded Toronto market!

Rink looks good on tv. I do wonder if they need so many service vomitories at ground level, especially behind each net. Would be nice if there were seats there. Prior to the reno they had only one zamboni entrance behind one net, with seats behind the other net.

At the takeover tour game today

Attended the hockey game on Saturday.

The good was that the arena bowl looked great when essentially full and it was a great atmosphere with a great crowd. Had an amazing time overall.

EDIT: Removed the rest of my somewhat lengthy post because it sounded too negative. Overall, I preferred the previous bright, more roomy single concourse over the new darker, narrower setup. Somehow the vibe just felt more event-like before and something has been lost.

Some additional choices

The other day I was in a store and overheard a bit of conversation about the TD Coliseum. One of the people was complaining that the City spent so much money on the renovation when the roads are crap and didn't think the seats were comfortable enough when they saw Trans Siberian Orchestra. "I don't know where they spent all that money, but it wasn't on seats, and now they want to raise our taxes again?"

I nearly lost my eyesight from rolling my eyes so hard.

Ive been correcting a lot of people only that have said "what a waste of taxpayers money" lol. Not sure why do many Hamiltonians like to complain.

I noticed this too. In fact, it almost seems like most of the people complaining actually take joy in it. When there's something positive, they'll jump through hoops to point out a negative aspect - even if it's unrelated to the positive stuff.

I swear it seems like all they want is to spend 100% of tax dollars on fixing roads, turn every street into a highway so they can drive everywhere fast and build as many parking lots as possible.

I don't believe any taxpayers money went into this project. It was all privately funded. It was the whole idea of having a private company run the arena and the rest of HECFI. The $30 million going into the convention centre is all private.

The TD Coliseum reno was indeed privately funded, but the city did give up ownership of something like three parking lots and also gave a big break on taxes. The convention centre update is $10 million.
