"Character" should be in scare quotes here. >.<

What difference does it make to you? I came across this thread from a recently posted article and made a reply to one of the most recent comments. Nobody is forcing you to be here.
There are some UTers who feel a compulsion to open old threads either to say "Has anything happened?" or make some comment that has no real content. Some of us follow only a few threads and it is really rather a pain in the ass to see a new post in one of them only to see it's a 'non-post'. I have "Ignored" a few people because they only seemed to post these 'non-posts'. Different strokes I guess but it IS annoying!

It's been a gradual downward trend for the Atrium. Back when I used to work across the street from around 2011-2016, it was fairly busy for what it is. I agree that the closure of the bus terminal along with the recent years of less office workers in the area definitely had a negative effect. It's sort of just a dead end mall now and an afterthought. Not too much going for it apart from the MUJI and maybe LCBO. There's also a lot more competition around now with the T&T supermarket nearby, along with Eataly at Eaton Centre and the other established food options there. Not much reason to go to the Atrium.

I frequently get some buns from KinKin in the basement, good value (cheaper than similar buns at T&T), occasionally go to Muji, but that's about it. I'm surprised the Red Lobster is still around after all these years - it's always so empty. I wonder what's the occupancy rate of the office space ...

Yea, I've been watching this place slowly die since 2018...its kind of depressing, but, there's been so much opening around it that competes with the businesses that were or already are here.
I miss that McDonalds that was at the food court. (I think theres only...3 shops there now?)

Yup, only 3 left in the food court (which used to be robust) - Asian Fusion, a sushi place, and Feta Olive across the hallway. Super lame. I'm also amazed that the Red Lobster is somehow still lurching along, since it's always dead.

Bring back 80's era Lichee Garden to make the Atrium great again. That was peak.

The fact that the Land Registry Office (upstairs) no longer welcomes the public must also have greatly reduced the 'customer base'
