2 buildings 24 stories (78 meters) and 18 stories (56 meters) taking up the entire block on the west side of Yonge St in Richmond Hill, between Yongehurst Rd and May Ave. The site is currently a few empty lots and an Esso gas station and is directly north of an existing completed Elm Developments condo.

Richmond Hill city council approved this project in 2024. A big factor in the approval was that this development is intended to provide affordable rental housing.

The gas station on the site was torn down a few months ago. I'll try to grab some pictures the next time I'm in the neighbourhood.

Looking at videos of the protests on Young street today I noticed that there appears to be construction equipment on this site

Took a closer look today - excavation equipment is present on the site and there is also a porta-potty and mobile site office/trailer - we may see construction start soon

The ELM website also says that this will be a 27 story tower, instead of the listed 24 stories with around 9K square feet of office/retail at the bottom
