And yes, the Columbus Cafe is now open.

Who could it be? Not a lot of fintech companies big enough for 223,000sf.. Wealthsimple is already in the Well and only leased about half that space there.

That's about half of the building, FYI. I'm sure Carttera is relieved for this thing to no longer be burning a hole in its pocket.

Big company, no current Canadian office, to my knowledge.

Let's get some stuff straight here, LOL

1) Nvida is in at Portland Commons, but they are not this lessee and will, in fact have a much smaller footprint than this lessee.

2) Also in, publicly is Stripe, which is a fintech. But not this lessee (TBD)

Here's what's taken and what's left:

I heard it is Stripe which is wild since they are in only 10,000 feet now.

I heard they were in.....but taking into account their existing footprint and PE saying the lessee has no presence here, I assumed they were taking a smaller space,. and that PE knew something I didn't....it happens, now and again, LOL

Block maybe? They are a very large fintech company with no current Toronto presence I know. I'm pretty sure they have a fairly substantial Canadian staffing list already working fully remote as well.

Side note for everyone, 223,00ft2 based on a fairly typical office build out in tech would equate to about 1,500 jobs.

Last I heard, their workforce was about a hundred, suggesting net new hiring plans in the 1,400 range.

LOL, yes PE......But the number of times I've known something you don't, about Toronto development can be counted on one hand, or two at a push. Not my fault you've earned the benefit of the doubt.

Your guesses are usually better than most people's 'facts'. :p

All good.
