Except for the bit at Bay Street, it was always a garbage station.
...it was a dystopian experience that always reminded travelers of their limited income brackets. And despite all it's faults, at least Union doesn't feel that way, IMO.

It was a dump. Short and simple. Toronto deserves better. Flin Flon probably has a better state. I better fact check that!
(However I do like the front older building that is being restored.)

It was a dump, sure, but it was a great place for bus geeks over the years: different models and liveries of Voyageur, Ontario Northland, GO New Looks, Greyhounds, Gray Coach and TTC trolley buses short-turning around the station.

Didn't get a close look, just from Dundas, but the site looked mostly cleared from Centre eastward. Site was dark, didn't seem worthwhile to divert from my errands. But for anyone local today, maybe worthwhile.

I used to visit my now-husband in the U.S. very often before he was able to immigrate here, and one day, instead of renting a car, I decided to take a bus to Buffalo and he came from Pittsburgh to pick me up. I was treated quite differently when crossing the border! Some Americans don't have a high opinion of people who don't own a car.

A few years back, I was questioned why I was crossing the border in a rental car, and the border guard was incredulous that I did not own one.
