The west-facing facade of this building is such a good opportunity for a public art or mural project by the city or the developer. Will add so much to this area. I'm thinking of how iconic the Leonard Cohen mural has become for Montreal.

The City of Toronto is seeking qualified non-profit housing providers, inclusive of Indigenous housing providers, non-profit housing co-operatives and non-profit housing organizations, to lease and operate a new affordable rental housing project with support services located at 1141 Bloor St. W.

This project will provide over 56 new affordable rental homes with support services appropriate for people experiencing or at risk of homelessness in Toronto, particularly individuals experiencing chronic homelessness.

Proponents with specific experience and expertise providing housing and support services for this population are invited to respond to this RFP.

The purpose of this RFP is to select a qualified non-profit housing provider with proven experience and expertise to lease a new 8 storey, 56-unit rental building at 1141 Bloor St. West from the City and operate as affordable rental homes with support services for 50 years less a day.

These homes are currently under construction by Fitzrovia Developments and are expected to be ready for occupancy in August 2026.
