Does anyone have a useful contact in the press dept at Waterfront Toronto? I'd love to get a high res version of that photo for my kid's school. They've been taking trips to Bidaasige, and this would be a great tool to situation the park and the river in the overall waterfront area.

...sometimes I think that big industry on the ports becomes it's own tourist attraction. Something I suspect some officials are a bit too squeamish to admit publicly.

I think we're a few years away on this with the land remediation on ookwemin minising still underway. You also have to consider how hard it is to get here by transit or the traffic congestion that would arise from tourist attractions on an island with essentially two main roads and not a lot of parking. The futue is bright though!

To be fair, those names like Mississauga were anglicized to make them easier to pronounce (more intuitive) to typical English speakers.

Misi-zaagiing (or Misswezahging), is where we get the latter from.
