Indeed. The interior isn’t finished so there’s nothing special to see.

Seeing it in person does dispel the idea that this could be a flagship store of any sort. It’s definitely too small for an Apple Store as some have suggested. It’ll make a nice restaurant one of these days.

more details here about 2 queen:

That second-floor McDonald's, I once had a personal-sized McPizza there. The McDonald's was facing The Bay. Yes, being a Millennial, I was too late for Simpsons (the only Simpsons I knew was the yellow suburban American family on television, not the department store), but early enough to have McPizza.

I remember the McDonalds. Always thought it was strange the mall having two.

I don't really remember the Simpsons across the road (aside from Today's Special) but do remember the Simpsons at Woodbine. My mother still had a Simpsons card in her wallet for at least a decade after the shutdown, and they were still honoured by The Bay.

Following up on this @TossYourJacket . It turns out the RW&Co at the top of the map near Apple is their permanent location. There’s a sign on the construction hoarding in the vacant spot showing that that’s where they moved to.
So the reason I'm a little skeptical is the new store still says "Pop-Up" on the windows. It also was a very low effort reno. No changes inside, the outside is clearly blue film over the old Banana Republic doorways. Wondering if it might be they put up a moved sign for now because it's taking time to rearrange the walls, etc to create the new space (since it was previously divided into two units since it's half of their old space and part of the AX store) and then build the new store, so the former BR location will be there longer than a usual temporary store, more like a semi-permanent one, but they will move back to the south end of the mall eventually. Also the fact they expanded the "moved" signage to include space that was not part of the old store, and it's been up for months (longer than CF usually allows) makes me wonder. I was just thinking about this because I was walking through today on my commute and the signage at both locations feels weird for a store that moved months ago.

Who knows.

...makes me wonder if it was the brickwork or the structure itself causing breakaway crack.

Yes - the one McDonalds was where harry Rosen is - I remember it had a second level - overlooked queen street. The other McDonalds was in the old food court.I think where Queens Cross/Shoppers is? I remember there was a second smaller one.

It was next to where shoppers is now across from Kernels and the Patty Express.

Used to be more of a food court presence there too. I remember Sbarro was there back in the day.

Jamie Bradburn shared an old article of his talking about opening day of Eaton Centre phase one. I compared the original tenants and the current directory; the only places left from opening day are Brown's shoes, Shoppers, and A&W. Everyone else? Poof.

Sbarro is still in the Eaton Centre food court today.

A&W’s presence hasn’t been continuous. It was gone for decades and only resurfaced with the construction of the new(er) north food court.

I’m not sure what you’re talking about regarding food court presence however. There’s more food court in the mall now than there’s ever been.

Before you get the meal, you have to agree to participate in a five-second promo, hence the hockey and ski hill sets, then you get to choose Pizza French Fries, Podium Poutine, or Gold Medal Sliders. You can only select one per day and it is free. Vegetarian options are available. It also comes with a voucher for a free bag of McCain's frozen potato products or a bag of McCain's frozen onion rings.

My review for the Pizza French Fries and the Podium Poutine (I personally am not interested in the Gold Medal Sliders):

Both taste excellent and have really crispy fries. Yes, I went on two different days (first time on February 13 and second time on February 22). They are not exactly the healthiest though.

Unfortunately, by the time you are reading this, the pop-up restaurant closed (it was open during the duration of the 2026 Winter Olympics, which ended on February 22). The reason I didn't post this earlier is because I had a huge backlog of photos. Sorry about that.

Fortunately, they are very easy to prepare at home. For example, the Pizza French Fries are just shoestring fries, pizza sauce, melted mozzarella cheese, and pepperoni slices, drizzled with hot honey (hot as in temperature, not as in SHUs).

Damn, I've probably walked or biked past here a dozen times over the course of the Olympics and had idea there was free food inside! Hopefully they do it again in 2 years 🤞
