Agreed. I was wondering why it was designed so far back from the street. Is there even retail proposed here? I thought I read through and saw zero retail space.

From the DRP page, apparently it has 1,623 sq.ft. of (awkward) retail space:

Is the actual developer bankrupt or just the entity that was created to develop the Barton Street project?
It would be shocking if LJM is actually bankrupt, all these developers operate under numbered corporations to protect themselves and prevent this from affecting their other sites.

HCRA is pulling all licenses of the project held under LJM Group due to financial mismanagement across three different sites (defaults on all loans)

Aviva Insurance has taken over the liquidation proceedings, replaced the monitor to kpmg, removed the the developer's DIP facility with their own, and is now searching for the missing $19 million that LJM siphoned off from LJM Tower....

Defaulted on 3 loans to 3 different credit unions in Halton Hills, Cambridge, and Kitchener...

In total, owing about 31 million from LJM Tower plus 20 million to defaulted lenders...

more legal proceedings coming soon....
