The black and dark wood cabinets have a certain sleek look that would appeal to some people. But the ceilings look ridiculous. We criticized that above in this thread, as soon as the first pic of them was posted.

The ceiling finish is poor, it does not connote 'loft' it connotes 'unfinished' Ugh.

Speaking of ugh, that tiny thing being passed off as a kitchen is not only non-functional as far as I'm concerned (far too little counter space and cupboard space) but its damned ugly.

The faux walnut laminate cupboards are straight out of the Consumers Distributing Catalogue circa 1986, and the solid black on the uppers with black backsplash and counters would get you a fail in a community college interior decorating course!

Egads that's bad.
Ive had better dorm rooms. And, no, I'm no Ritchie Rich!

When looking for a place the one thing I refuse to budge on is one-wall kitchens. I hate them lol. I'll walk from a place automatically if I see it.

A team was doing some work on the windows of the heritage building on Bloor (that or doing their rendition of the movie Brazil):

And here's some pics from a west laneway looking towards Baldwin:

I'd prefer that over an island that doesn't do anything but take up space in the living room and isn't usable as a dining table. Those days of living in a place like that are behind me regardless, but my preference would be no island.

In our current house we actually removed a stupid island that blocked half the living room.

Despite the outcry in losing Honest Eds, it seems that we can replace it with a development with an equally culturally intriguing future. An exciting new chapter for this neighbourhood is around the corner! This is how city planning in Toronto should look like.

I feel like this project has been dormant for 2 years now. I need that grocery store already!
The grocery store has been progressing but not in a way that is easily observable. I go by there regularly, and since the start of the year I saw some drywall has been installed and painted, and the supplies piled up against the 2nd storey window has changed over time. So it is not truly dormant, but not enough for anyone to post photos lol. BestCo after having successfully set up the Peter St location I figure they should have no trouble getting this off the ground. Could Westbank's own financial troubles have an effect on this? I too look forward to this supermarket, would really complement Fiesta on Christie and FreshCo across from Toronto Western. PAT will need to shape up to compete...

This location was supposed to open before Peter. BestCo is lackadaisical at best, compounded here by Westbank's implosion and the broader project having a rotating cast of characters acting as "CM" with no clear direction or finite schedule. A mess within a mess...

I walked by today, lots of construction noise and workers moving about for a Saturday afternoon. The glass around the supermarket is now covered in a different paper, and there's a sign posted indicating the project is anticipated to end on May 31. Also, I never noticed the parking garage price sign until now. Another surprising thing was the Badiali space appears to take up the main floor on both of the semi-detached units. The blue security booth covers the left side window which also has their store decal.
