Oh yeah, this house in the Beach has bricks that look like they came from the same batch.

These are called clinker bricks, once an accidental by-product of brickmaking but later used as an architectural statement.

Nice morning to see how they are connecting the old and new sections together on this NON-DESIGNATED site.
Thankfully, the HERITAGE DESIGNATION process was stopped back in 2015 -- and that smart decision was foundational in giving the non-profit developer & congregation the "flexibility" around heritage and design to deliver this great building in 2026...

That the Toronto and East York Community Council defer indefinitely consideration of the report (March 10, 2015) from the Director, Urban Design, City Planning Division, respecting the Intention to Designate Under Part IV, Section 29 of the Ontario Heritage Act and Inclusion on the Heritage Register - 285-297 Danforth Avenue (also known as 60 Bowden Street).

More south-facing windows would have been helpful on this specific site for net-zero, etc. - but the City priority was to "avoid over look" on the low-density neighbouring houses, laneways and backyards south of Danforth .
