Yes, unless you're living in New York City, it's often almost expected to have your own car in the US. From some family I have down there, it's pretty common to have 2 or 3 cars even for a family of 4 and such. The price of insurance is quite cheaper down there. But also it's just how car-centric the American lifestyle and mindset is. Even Chicago felt very much like that.

It's one of those "What am I looking at?'...

...and oh right, there used to be a bus terminal there.

Chestnut Street is completely fenced off around the property now, in addition to Edward.

Looks like they put wooden stakes on the west side of the west property. Looks like there is a gas line there...

And the notice board for the construction crew has been placed on site but nothing set up in it yet...

And cameras installed on the east building. Apparently, demo will start soon but the heritage parts of the building need to be addressed beforehand (of course).

Nice to see the start of some construction. I think we are in for a bit of a dry spell in this town save for some purpose built rental projects and maybe a new office tower in the next year or two.

I'm happy that this space is being filled in by something interesting and useful plus the fact the heritage front is being spared for retail etc. Apologies if mentioned already however is the empty lot directly to the north on Bay St being proposed for something?
