Right on the field level in front of the lower stands?

Accessible seating will go in there, since a percentage of the overall seating capacity has to be accessible according to Ontario law.

The CSA is already selling tickets in that area for the upcoming friendlies.
Makes sense. With the new CFL field dimensions coming, I really hope the lower north end seating below the new boxes and patio deck become permanent. It gives the stadium a much more finished look.

Those real grass installations on top of fake turf tend to go to shit after a few weeks.

Will be interesting to see how they deal with that.
Maybe this will put to bed any questions regarding the turf across the tournament.

There is an interactive page you can click on every stadium and what will be done. Biggest difference here is they will be installing a proper "temp" grass, with 12" sand layer, proper drainage in many stadiums. This isnt just sod laid down to last one or two games and this isnt copa america lol, fifa isnt just letting each stadium decide what to do.

I'd be interested if this type of installation has actually been tried anywhere and has proven to be successful.

I still stand by my assertions that this could go bad

That isnt an unproven system, the sand beneath grass is typical practice - thats what is beneath BMO, point is all stadiums will have same conditions. I'll trust the guys getting paid to ensure it works lol

This is just a call to accept a narrative that is still not proven.

I noticed in your other post you mentioned that 'many' stadiums have drainage. How many is many?

Anyways. I guess I'm just naturally skeptical. I remember when FIFA promised that they could invent Air Conditioning of outdoor stadiums. And then then ended up moving the Qatar World Cup to November/December because it was always a lie..

By "many" i meant any that didn't already have it such as BMO or mexican stadiums for example. Any american artifical turf pitches were removed/covered with drainage layer, sand and grass.
I think overall ppl just think put some grass down and hope it works meanwhile this is a science and industry on its own we are just ignorant to. These "temp" fields are built same as a permanent would be.

We've seen the Wembley grounds keepers claim that NFL type football isn't bad for a soccer field. So I am a bit skeptical when people from this industry make any sort of claims

I feel like I trust the word of a groundskeeper whose job it is to maintain grass in a stadium over... some rando on an internet board.

Like I said, I'm skeptical because I've seen these types of installs fail numerous times over the years following the sport.

Anyways we will get a good idea of how this type of installation holds up as they have already installed it in New England and the MLS team is already playing on it.

Vancouver and Seattle are doing their installations later.

I refer you all back to this one year ago. Please stop claiming this drivel without sources.
Lamport can't be renovated for anything.

I'd rather TSC move out. They chew up the field far worse than the Argos. Wembley groundskeepers confirm that soccer does more damage to grass than football.
Do you have a source for that?
I imagine he does not.

After he posted that I was searching online for anything of that sort. I can only find the opposite claim that American football does more damage, which is generally accepted by those in and around sports.

Several years ago the NFL stadium series was played at Wembley, which was Tottenham’s home at the time (following demolition of Three Point Lane 🤣). In weeks following, pundits and commentators were appalled by the state of the pitch.

Grass has also already been installed in Atlanta. The US plays two games there over the next few days, and the MLS team has had at least one game on it.
