A bunch of steel has been erected over the GO Tracks around the area that is South of Jefferson Ave. I believe they are building a safety platform before they start working on the concourse level of the new station.

Anybody know why the north entrance building needs such a deep excavation when the OL and GO platforms are going to be at ground level?

There's also another deeply excavated section visible beneath the temporary pedestrian bridge, I'm guessing that is maybe where the ventilation plant will be for the tunnels?

None of it is for the traction power substation because that's further east at Strachan, so I'm just wondering.

No idea why the North entrance building is so deep. According to this diagram, all that's in the basement is the foundations.

And the deep pit by the foot bridge is actually the Traction Power Sub Station. The area by Strachan is a Step Up Sub Station.

I also forgot to mention in my last post, but the foot bridge is now back open for the season if anyone is interested in getting a good look at the site. However, the massive white tower for the conveyer system completely blocks the TBMs.
