what are all the benches for exactly?
Sitting down? I like how they're have benches facing each other - it's more convivial. I imagine it would make it easier for groups of friends to converse & hang out in a free "third space" and will add to the vibrancy of the streetscape. It was something I immediately noticed as different in Montréal compared to Toronto.

I can appreciate this is not everybody's cup of tea. I still like it though. And it does circles around the likes of Time and Space, IMO.

It's not industrial siding. It's a custom serrated profile, not the PBR panels used on industrial buildings. These people don't know what they're talking about.
I meant industrial as a wide umbrella term for mass produced metal panelling, the other adjectives I used simply reinforced the association I have with seeing this material on this project. (I'm no material scientist...my knowledge base leans more into masonry abd geology)
Of course they wouldnt used actual industrisl grade siding en masse in this context.

i really like this as an urban gesture of a building, however it would have been nice if the west block and east block were finished in different but complementary colours/finishes. that's been spoken about before

for sure I know the benches are for "sitting"...I am just wondering who will "sit" here as there is no focal point of social... we only know one restaurant at the corner, hopefully more. To me it makes more sense if these benches are on the distillery side, otherwise they will just be empty seats waiting for "sitters"🫤

I agree that (Waste of) Time & Space is an absolute low point, this one is really not much better. The pink 'brick' and the budget-price siding really do scream 'cheap'.

It really is like “okay. Here’s your scenic view of our car dealership district. I’d hope that some sort of street scaping is to come, or an exodus on those dealerships cuz you’re right, there’s no focus or comfort here to require that much seating
