Metrolinx announces that excavation at King-Bathurst is complete.

Any guesses on how quickly they build the station up to street level? There are years of work left but I suppose pouring the station box will change the nature of construction activity. Dump trucks replaced with technical equipment and trades. I wonder if the acoustic tent on the north side will remain in place for weather proofing the site or if it'll get in the way and a more traditional open air construction will continue. How was it done on the Eglinton Crosstown stations?

The top half of this photo is pretty trippy. Without the bottom half I'd think it's the worst artist rendering I've ever seen. It reminds me of bad PS2 graphics.

I think the KB Station is the first stop where those boring machines will be poking their heads through if I got that right...

I don't want to know about how much they cost.

No wonder this line has such a ridiculous cost.. Watching it get built, Metrolinx is going for ridiculously expensive custom solutions for basically everything.
Quite the construction and engineering excellence on the southern civil team, unfortunately the same can’t be said across all contracts.

Technically EEB at Ordnance, but probably not a great photo-op.

The RFQ is from the contractor, not Metrolinx. Believe it or not there is no expertise in North America for this, and yes it has to be custom built. Each supplier even has different design.
2 Italian suppliers with manufacturing facilities in Indonesia and India, 1 Spanish supplier with manufacturing facility in Turkey, 1 Turkish supplier, 1 Swiss supplier with European manufacturing.

Can you guess the winner from the proposed solutions below ?
