Turns out... they do work on Saturdays.
So they made it more difficult to demolish because developers were demolishing buildings that shouldn't be and sat as an empty lot for years to decades. Now they went back to the old way because they can't be bothered to enforce rules around... Checks notes... Making sure buildings are structurally sound.
Love that. Super great. Looking forward to more vacant lots in our near future for decades. Empty grass lots are a sign of a successful downtown I've heard.
This corner (or block if you really want to get wild) is prime for a skyscraper or two or three, too bad it's so short and not mixed use. I'd love to see a 60+ floor mixed use tower here with commercial at grade, a hotel on the next 15 or so floors then rentals or condos above.
This one is already partnered with the Laundry Rooms and Equal Parts. It appears at least that this is some kind of weird legacy project. Laundry Rooms has a hotel already in Hamilton, and it appears Equal Parts would be operating the ground floor restaurant.I am waiting for Vancor to request an increase in floors for the building. He has done this before. I also expect they will change the name of the hotel to a chain brand. This is most likely a placeholder name for the hotel while they negotiate a contract with someone. Of the 20 hotels he owns, only one is not a chain brand and that is the Waterfront Hotel Downtown Burlington.

That doesn't necessarily mean it will move forward as, you mention, Vrancor is East of sketchy operations, but it does appear the partnerships have already been somewhat made.
Correct, the one with Plank on the ground floor and rooftop. It is a long term stay hotel. A friend of mine stayed there for around a month recently following an issue in their place that required them to temporarily vacate.Isn't laundry room in one of the new augusta buildings?
