    Toronto | 145 St George | 98.15m | 29s | Tenblock | a—A

I particularly liked the moment when the final caller asked Mike Layton why we aren't upzoning the entire city and especially the low-rise residential areas near the site.

    Toronto | West Don Lands: Block 3, 4 & 7 | 50.32m | 13s | Dream | COBE Architects

Interestingly, one of the docs that dropped was a Cost Estimate for streetscape enhancements, which I haven't seen included in the dev app portal before. Posting it below as it was an interesting look into the costs associated:

    Toronto | West Don Lands: Block 3, 4 & 7 | 50.32m | 13s | Dream | COBE Architects

Docs were updated on October 13, 2021. Unsure if there are any new renderings that we haven't seen before. I think the only new one is this winter rendering below. There are also more details on materials.

    Toronto | Westerly Condos | 87.9m | 27s | Tridel | Kirkor Architects

It seems as though it is a condo tower now: https://condonow.com/PDF/PlanAndPricing/Westerly-Condos-2/Westerly_2%20Brochure%20.pdf From the Project Data Sheet: Unsure what is Hollyburn's involvement with the project then. Their site is still up at https://60centralpark.com/

    Baby, we got a bubble!?

That mind you, is one assumption. The developers decided they didn't find it worth turning those lots into something today. Not that they couldn't profit from hypothetically putting up a condo on the site today had they wanted to. The safer assumption I think, is that they are land banking it...

Downtown Grocery Store List (current + proposed)

Personally I am sad that McEwan's is closing at Yonge and Bloor. I enjoyed jumping downstairs to grab a pizza slice from their counter on my way between places. Probably wouldn't have found myself grocery shopping there if I was a local though.

Is the second tower still a rental project? Seeing promotions for a "Westerly 2 Condos" launch online.

TTC: Bloor Danforth Line 2 West Extension(s)

A western extension would provide coverage of Dundas West with a Shorncliffe station. There is significant residential growth projected for the area surrounding Sherway Gardens. A southern extension there would jump-start that.

    Toronto | 32 Richview | 35.25m | 10s | Grand Communities Corporation | Icon

Based on the cover letter, it looks like this will be a condo. Site history:

    Toronto | 2345 Yonge | 130.2m | 36s | RioCan | DIALOG

Dreadful. Can we petition Queen's Park to send Dialog back to Western Canada?

    Toronto | Whitehaus Condominiums | 107.28m | 31s | Lifetime | Diamond Schmitt

Across the street at Montgomery Square, the StockTC restaurant fills in the third-storey restaurant indoor/outdoor patio space really nicely, and that is a very recent and adjacent precedent. They should try to replicate that here.

    Toronto | 1681 Weston | 32.4m | 9s | EDEV Real Estate | Paradigm

Bedroom sizes are noticeably larger in this proposal compared to the Toronto norm:

    GO studies Bolton rail service

Yup, people need to stop focusing on whether ridership will be high at the termini of Lines and instead look at the coverage. This is a part of the city that is underserved with rapid transit, with quite a few connecting surface transit routes, pockets of density, and if well-planned with...

    Toronto | 586 Eglinton East | ?m | 32s

The loss of medical offices would be a massive blow to the neighbourhood.

    Novel Coronavirus COVID-19 (nCoV-2019)

That is not entirely true. Trade routes were actively traversed throughout the middle ages across the Old World, especially in south and east Asia. The 1918 Influenza also had a much higher mortality rate for younger age demographics, which had substantially more severe impact on society and...

Green Party of Canada: Leadership Race

It is incomprehensible to me how a foreign policy topic was the cause of so much internal party strife. Was the Green Party leadership even cognizant that they effectively need to be in power or at least the official opposition in order to have an impact on Canada's foreign policy? I'm...

    TTC route ridership/operating costs

You might have interest in reading through this thread: https://urbantoronto.ca/forum/threads/transit-ridership-statistics-tracking.29434/page-15 Activity in that thread had dwindled with Covid understandably, though it may be time to revive it as more people return to their daily commutes.
