    Elia Land (4615 Hurontario) (Elia Corporation, 1x 45s + 1x 42s + 5x 36s + 1x 30s + 1x 28s, BDP Quadrangle)

Another Large new proposal at 4615 Hurontario in Mississauga including 9 more condo towers of 28 to 45 storeys. Sorry for the poor picture quality - took photo from my car as I drove past - signs were just being erected.

    Toronto | The One | 338.3m | 94s | Mizrahi Developments | Foster + Partners

I may have missed it, did they get the extra height they were asking for?

    Toronto | The One | 338.3m | 94s | Mizrahi Developments | Foster + Partners

So construction is continuing - without construction workers?
  5. Big Daddy

    Toronto | The One | 338.3m | 94s | Mizrahi Developments | Foster + Partners

How do you keep a GC and other trades available and engaged when construction shuts down regularly? you keep paying them. This must be costing Mizrahi a fortune. I'm sure there must be delivery dates being pushed back considerably as well, with appropriate penalties. Ouch.

    Toronto | 2180 Yonge | 253.5m | 70s | Oxford Properties | Pelli Clarke Pelli

Likely Oxford will simply put the project on hold until they feel they can get a better deal. They have plenty of lucrative deals on the go or on the precipice (Union Park and others) to focus its time and resources on instead of a development that just had its ROI gutted.

    Toronto | 8 Elm | 218.2m | 68s | Pemberton | IBI Group

Yes, but if we stick with that plan, they shouldn't build another building downtown since T.O. is absolutely unable to build transit.

    Toronto | The One | 338.3m | 94s | Mizrahi Developments | Foster + Partners

I haven't been on this site in some time - does anyone know if Mizrahi was successful in getting the increased floor count he was asking for?

    Agreed....what was our strength again?

    Toronto | Voya | ?m | 42s | Amacon | Turner Fleischer

Cities are changing. By your definition, the city of Dubai would be suburban - It's a cluster of individual non-connected high rises - cities grow differently today. Today, there are as many cars travelling from Toronto to Mississauga as there are other way. Square One shopping centre...

    Toronto | Voya | ?m | 42s | Amacon | Turner Fleischer

Mississauga has a population of about 812 356 Peel Region has a population of almost 1,500,000 - the same as Calgary hardly suburban anymore

Ontario Line (was Relief Line South, in Design)

That's why it's impossible to get transit built in Toronto. Let's analyze it to death - propose a different plan, study it - then analyze it to death - propose a new plan, study it - then analyze it to death - over and over and over.

    Toronto | The One | 338.3m | 94s | Mizrahi Developments | Foster + Partners

I love the absolute girth of the structure that is being slowly built. It looks like at could carry twice the building it is about to carry

    Toronto | Pinnacle One Yonge | 312.5m | 95s | Pinnacle | Hariri Pontarini

Site actually looks pretty quiet for such a big excavation/building

    Toronto | 36 Eglinton West | 220m | 65s | Lifetime | Wallman Architects

Agreed, they'll have a hard time explaining how this isn't a perfect fir for this intersection.

    Toronto | M1 & M2 at M City | 197.81m | 60s | Rogers Real Estate | Core Architects

Apparently it's illegal to build a condo in Ontario without using spandrel. or is it that the developers are too cheap?
  17. Big Daddy

    Toronto | CIBC SQUARE | 241.39m | 50s | Hines | WilkinsonEyre

I'm still shocked the developer didn't propose taller buildings here given the outstanding location (Financial Core and South Core) and proximity to Union Station which reaches out to the entire GTA and GTHA. A waste of opportunity IMO.

    Toronto | The One | 338.3m | 94s | Mizrahi Developments | Foster + Partners

So... you're saying that there is a developer in Toronto that is concerned about aesthetics? Who the heck allowed this to happen? Heads will roll at city hall..
