    Toronto | Sugar Wharf Condominiums (Phase 1) | 231m | 70s | Menkes | a—A

Now waiting for Lakeside Residences to cover them from the other side. I feel bad for people whose units are going to face Daniels.

GO Transit: Construction Projects (Metrolinx, various)

So, you should not be expecting mid day GO service to be the same as peak hour service.

He said 30% growth every year for next few decades.

GO Transit: Construction Projects (Metrolinx, various)

Are you suggesting that these highways are equally busy throughout the day? You may need to visit these highways during rush hours and mid day. Or better, use Google's traffic data. Try driving times from point A to point B during rush hours and during mid-day. You will find an objective answer.

GO Transit: Construction Projects (Metrolinx, various)

That can only happen if rush hours and non-rush hour have the same frequencies, that is every train that comes in, goes all the way back to its origin. Why would Metrolinx run empty trains at 5 or 10 min frequency in non-rush hours. The difference between rush hour and non-rush hour service is...

I am expecting a ribbon cutting ceremony for cleaning the platform.

Just wipe it with a microfiber cloth after you are done tasting it. Glass like this needs to be kept pristine.

    Roads: GTA West Corridor—Highway 413

Do you know that transit is subsidized by taxpayers and transit agencies don't recover their expenses from fares alone? And you know what's the fun part? Car driving people contribute way more to these subsidies than transit riding people. You know why? Because there are way more car driving...

    Roads: GTA West Corridor—Highway 413

Other 400 series highways are owned entirely by us. So, they are not comparable.

    Roads: GTA West Corridor—Highway 413

I am all in for having a toll free 413 so that it can actually relieve congestion from 401, something which 407 failed to do despite being much closer. I would rather have tolls on 401 instead because that's a straighter crosstown route and passes through urban areas and through a part of the...

GO Transit: Service thread (including extensions)

Why are there no plans for having Milton trains stop at Bloor station? Is it because that line already stops at Kipling station and anyone that wants to use subway can get off at Kipling?

    Hurontario LRT | Metrolinx

Pearson came into existence because of Toronto. Mississauga barely had anything at that time. That's why it's called Toronto Pearson. Large airports are always in suburbs because land is cheaper there. I would not count employment at the airport under Mississauga's achievement. If they build the...

I won't be surprised if Ottawa's Confederation line actually has tracks warped like this.

    Roads: Ontario/GTA Highways Discussion

Most of the people anyways own a car for weekend errands or pleasure even if they don't drive to work at all (I am one of those). Irrespective of driving to work or not: 1. The car will depreciate almost as much (mainly because cars are advancing at such a fast rate that a 5 year old well...

    Roads: Ontario/GTA Highways Discussion

Having a moderate toll will still reduce some discretionary trips. Right now, driving is cheaper than GO train. Even a 10 cent/km could change equation in favour of GO for a lot of commuters. If every highway is tolled, then the overall traffic on the roads will reduce. We may not have free...

    Roads: Ontario/GTA Highways Discussion

All of GTA's highways combined should be around 5 times of 407 ETR's length. So if you cut the toll by 5 times and increase the length of tolled network by 5 times, you get the same result. Your example of 30 cents/km toll not being able to finance the highway doesn't make sense here. They are...

    Roads: Ontario/GTA Highways Discussion

I am all for Province buying 407's stake at $32 billion as long as they toll all of the GTA highways at a very reasonable rate - let's say one-fifth of 407's rate in peak hours and one-tenth in off peak hours. And of course, 407's new rates should match with rest of the system. Trucks may travel...

    Roads: Ontario/GTA Highways Discussion

407 ETR was last pegged at $32 billion. With that money, we could have all GO lines electrified, have new EMU trains and signaling and may be even build the missing link. I doubt Province will ever have money or will to buy 407's stake. It's a 99 year long lease expiring in 2098. We would have...

It can be tolled and still need expansion. Case in point 407 which is tolled at an astronomical rate and 413 is going to be cheaper.
