These buildings are beautiful, particularly those balconies, but no. no. no.

This looks really awesome, excited to see this progress!

My earlier point stands, those balconies are sick

To be fair, the select group of us who actually care about this kinda stuff will not be looking at the little podium with that schmexy tower behind/beside it lol

It's definitely going to be interesting watching this progress with the NIMBY city council, and it seems to be a fairly large discussion point in the upcoming municipal election

The dirt piles here are tremendous, I always think there's no way they can get any higher but they're still growing

Apologies for the bad pic I made my mom take on her potato phone for me haha, but the building is topped out and we have windows up to the 18th floor! Occupancy is expected by mid fall

Totally missed that haha thank you

Based on the newly released tower numbers it looks like they plan on building the two residential towers first, then the shorter office tower, then the supertall

gtfo before this becomes well known haha

It appears these buildings were approved by city council today, it was the last regular meeting before the election so they were approving new developments left and right, 16 total I believe

The design is cool, and I think we're all expecting the entire corridor to develop quickly, but that lot is certainly not where I was expecting the first huge building to be proposed at Egg and Bayview there. Alas, I'm sure it will just blend in to the skyline at some point anyways haha

I feel like this building will have the perfect balance of standing out while also blending seamlessly into the Toronto skyline, in a similar way that CIBC Square does

Maybe (definitely) a hot take, but I really like the balcony design, whether it's supposed to look like something or not. It adds depth to an otherwise glass box, and it's unique, which is exactly what we always talk about wanting. Could it have been executed better? absolutely. But it's...

    Toronto | 399 Yonge | 252.3m | 75s | Capital Developments | Teeple Architects

Maybe a hot take but the Aura building is one of my favourites in the city (at night at least cuz that lighting), I'm sad to see the view of it get so blocked so fast

    Toronto | Theatre District Residence & Riu Plaza Hotel | 156.05m | 49s | Plaza | BDP Quadrangle

I'd love to see it reimagined, it just does nothing for the skyline nor the streetscape. I really like the mod-deco idea. I still think it's ugly but various opinions are the beauty of discussion threads haha

    Toronto | 399 Yonge | 252.3m | 75s | Capital Developments | Teeple Architects

Entirely subjective of course, but this reminds me of some of these buildings we're seeing in Ukraine that have chunks out of them from missiles... thought of it immediately when I saw it

    Toronto | Voya | ?m | 42s | Amacon | Turner Fleischer

There's something I love about this business in the front, party in the back design haha. It just looks like boring blocks from the northeast but has all those awesome curves on the opposite side

That Hyatt needs to go. It's absolutely hideous lol. The only reason it's not as bad as Terminal 3 at Pearson is because it's not green. The least they could do is clean it
