Has anyone ever noticed the giant MAINSTREET billboards plastered along 26th Ave SW? Mainstreet owns a bunch of apartment buildings along there and they have these massive signs on their front lawns. Well, they did..... I complained to bylaw a couple times about them as I have always thought...

The SW corner of that intersection appears to have a big bump out There's also a large public parking area in the parkade of the odeon. I feel like no one know about it until about a year ago

    Calgary Municipal Politics

Not that i agree with the bag thing, but is this the best place for these kind of discussions? Im starting to get Facebook vibes from this forum with all the bitching and moaning. I like this forum because its a place to talk about buildings and development without the BS, lets keep it that way.

The people in charge probably think the building is boring due to having to simplify the design because of cost. So they think "hmm how can we make this boring building more exciting", and decide that adding some random rectangles and different window colours will make it more interesting...

My main criticism is the absurd amount of materials and colour. If all the windows were black and they just stuck with the wood and white/light grey it would be fine. Seems to be a common thing where they are trying to do too much. KISS
