Overall I think this looks fantastic — I mean, for a shopping mall — but I get a bit annoyed every time I look at all these plastic drain pipes. I’m no expert, but could that really have been the only solution? 📷: @Red Mars

Sorry, that wasn’t directed at you, it was for the small handful of people lurking behind the scenes waiting for an opportunity to go off on this again. ✌️

Can we please not spend the next five pages speculating about project financing, whether Mizrahi is a crook, how shady the investors are, etc etc, based on a random comment from “some guy” on Facebook (who may well be the dude who comes here stirring it up every couple of months)? Thanks in...

Dammit, I can’t find one single thing to be mad at with this project.

Hopefully the purpose of the test is to figure out how to resolve this corner so it fits like the mockup. 😄 📷: @jer1961 📷: UT update

Possibly this is a dumb question, but could those bits of cladding on the corner be test pieces so workers can perfect installing them before they start working with the ‘real’ ones? Is that a thing? Renders suggest that the cladding is one continuous piece from the corner over to the column...

My hunch — based on this rendering — is that the overlapping portion might be transparent, and you’ll see the banding through it. (Or perhaps that’s an optical illusion 😀). 📷: UT project page

Second row of glass incoming! Maybe we’ll get that first glimpse of the remaining cladding for Christmas. 📷: @skycandy

These new pieces of steel look like they‘re the connectors that will form the ‘plate’ of the cantilevered support structure. 📷: @Johnny Au “12 steel nodes form the base of the bracing structure, providing connection points for steel beams that extend out to the edge of the building’s...

Me too - but I imagine it’ll all be covered in protective film, so quite a while yet before we see the full impact.

Interesting observation. From my perspective this turned out exactly like the renders, with the exception of the crown. The ‘angled planes‘ appear to be formed by changes to the floorplate at nearly every level — not just the balcony glass — so I’d be curious to hear more about what part you...

I‘d be curious to know if developers have to agree that they won’t value engineer HP designs; the exterior finishes typically turn out pretty great. Or is it more the case that the developers who choose HP tend to care more about quality?

Yes, I’ll be curious to see why they outlined the mechanical floor on this last slab, given it’s not actually the mechanical floor.

Yes, taller and rebar looks denser, too (at least the horizontal bands). Here’s a comparison of last level’s column and this one. The ‘solid’ part of the cage (the part that gets filled with concrete) reaches to just above the third horizontal blue brace on the last form, and to the fourth...
