    Cycling infrastructure (Separated bike lanes)

I commented on the Cycling Network interactive map when it first opened but looking at it now, all of my comments are gone. Anyone else have that experience? Are there just too many comments so they are only showing newer ones?

    TTC: Other Items (catch all)

This is an amazing article, I've had it bookmarked for like 2 years. Really is the bible in terms of what is needed for transit priority. Also really shows you how fundementally different the european context is - our car-oriented street design and frequent use of signalized intersections means...

    Cycling infrastructure (Separated bike lanes)

It seems like this issue could be solved easily by laying down yellow tactile strips in that "dark grey strip" area?

    Toronto Toronto | Crosstown LRT | ?m | ?s

The currently operating branch of the REM terminates underground (I guess technically a re-constructed concourse of an existing underground station), and the Valley Line has a short cut-and-cover tunnel section as well.

    GTHA Transit Fare Integration

All it would take is GO lowering fares within Toronto to equal the TTC fare to enable this. Not a huge leap once the first phase of fare integration is in place.

You say this like its a done deal. The Relief Line North study was exploring alignments along Leslie, Don Mills, and Victoria Park, and I wouldn't be surprised to see MX look at other options to such running to Oriole GO via the RH corridor they own to minimize disruption and costs. Another...

    Toronto Toronto | Crosstown LRT | ?m | ?s

The schedules and service plans were decided years ago, and are contractually binding. The consortium gets penalized if service is behind schedule. They can't just change them so that it is "always behind schedule"..

Ontario Line Extension West of Ontario Place (Speculation)

If you know how Metrolinx works, the people who learned that lesson will switch to a totally unrelated department 8 months later, and their replacements (also coming from a totally unrelated department) will entirety lack that knowledge

    Mississauga Toronto | Hurontario-Main LRT | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx

Too bad they aren't looking far ahead enough to Transitway LRT conversion. They could solve a lot of the operational problems with the loop by just having it be covered by a new east-west LRT corridor instead.

    Ottawa Transit Developments

Can't find it now but there was a nice video today on LinkedIn by one of the SNC people involved. Great drone footage of the test running. Apparently they have commenced dynamic testing of the trains.

A curious job posting on the MX website... extensions being cooked up?

    Metrolinx: Other Items (catch all)

From MX's recent presentation to Hamilton City Council... how come their random regional transit network graphics universally get major details wrong? I'm seeing no YNSE, EWLRT, but Line 2 extended to what appears to be STC, and Line 4 extended to... Pickering?

Toronto Toronto | GO Transit: Davenport Diamond Grade Separation | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx

I think there's strong justification with the Lansdowne GO and all the development springing up around here, for a "PATH West" underground tunneled concourse which connects Dundas West station, Bloor GO, Lansdowne GO, and Lansdowne station. It's less than 1km across!

    Eglinton East LRT | Metrolinx

Here's my plan: * Truncate the other EELRT branch to end at Guildwood GO, maintaining RapidTO lanes from Kennedy Station to Guildwood GO (-6km LRT) * Truncate the Durham-Scarborough BRT to meet the EELRT at UTSC (-6km BRT), and instead re-route an EELRT branch via Ellesmere to meet STC (+6km...

    Toronto Toronto | Ontario Line | ?m | ?s

Something interesting: MX has the right to contract ProjectCo to build future extensions of the system. There's quite a bit of detail around the procedure in the document. Makes me think that MX may be setting the stage for building future extensions relatively quickly..

Ontario Line Extension West of Ontario Place (Speculation)

Over the last 5 years alone, the population in the census tracts around Roncy/the GO station you are proposing have decreased by 0.1%, 3%, 6%, 6%, 8%, and 9%..

GO Transit: Construction Projects (Metrolinx, various)

Tidbit from the Concord GO IBC which was recently released: "The Barrie GO Expansion program is anticipated to be completed by 2030, and not scheduled for electrification until 2032."

Have we ever been shown this before? Future-looking GO bus map

    TTC/Metrolinx: Scarborough Subway Extension

Considering the report was signed off on by the Head of Transportation Services, I would imagine they are supporting the recommendations.
