    Burlington Toronto | 355 Plains Road East (Burlington) | ?m | 11s | Coletara Development | srm Architects

This project has been approved by the OLT and City Of Burlington under the condition that more retail space is added, parking is reduced, and setbacks are adjusted slightly

    Oakville Toronto | 115 Trafalgar Road | 23.81m | 6s | Catau | Hicks Design Studio

A little coffee shop or bistro would fit so well on the ground floor there. Looks super Parisian but modern too.

And I'm sure those trees will do great with the entire 7 seconds of direct sunlight they'll get each day

Burlington / 400 Brant St / The Queens Head (formerly)

I suppose a very small condo building could go up in behind the historic front portion of the building, but the lot just isn't big enough and the building is too historic to have anything go up through it and preserve its facade. Here's the site on Google Maps:

    Toronto Toronto | West Don Lands: Block 10 Indigenous Hub | 50.3m | 13s | Dream | Stantec

Remember how you could see the insulation and metal through the holes that form the design? I believe the pieces that were up previously were just test panels. That would also explain why they put a few up and they just sat there for months. Now they're expanding the black backing and adding...

    Burlington Toronto | BeauSoleil | 103.7m | 29s | Carriage Gate | Turner Fleischer

Black spandrel isn't awful. At least until it starts to fade and the film starts to crack

    Toronto Toronto | The Well | 174.03m | 46s | RioCan | Hariri Pontarini

Initial reports are saying someone had flicked one or more cigarettes from a higher balcony, one of which landed on something flammable on a balcony a few floors below. I know a guy who woke up to his entire window being a wall of flames, and lost some furniture that was out on his balcony.

They've done a good job with materials here to be able to make a cost effective (blocky) design without it looking too boring

    Toronto Toronto | Eastern Avenue Transit-Oriented Community | ?m | ?s | Infrastructure ON

The title says 140 storeys, I'm assuming that's a typo and not the world's tallest building going up in East York?

    Burlington Toronto | Oval Court | 104.5m | 30s | Branthaven Homes | Core Architects

This project was bumped up to the top of the City of Burlington's developments page, which means there's been an update, but I can't for the life of me figure out what's changed here. No new documents, no change in numbers, no new renderings, and it's still under appeal to the OLT.

    Toronto Toronto | Crosstown LRT | ?m | ?s

They should colour it, like the roundels in London. Red for subway, green for GO, etc. Problem solved (although they won't do that)
  13. ben.thebean1

    Toronto Toronto | Crosstown LRT | ?m | ?s

I do think they could be bigger and more clear, but I like the obelisks. You can all start yelling at me if you want, but the modern version of London's roundel took decades to become a universally-used symbol for the underground, and later all London transit. Toronto (metrolinx) is implementing...

I haven't heard or seen anything either, so this is pure speculation, but maybe it's the opposite side of what you mentioned - they could be working on a resubmission to add height/floors.

    Aurora Toronto | The Shoe Factory | 29.15m | 8s | Atria | Wallman Architects

Yes, it's across the road, and already existing.

    Hamilton Toronto | 1494 Upper Wellington Street | 67.8m | 20s | Valery Homes | KNYMH

Although something like this would certainly be better located a block west on Upper James, overall not a bad spot. Not much on that corner at all but lots of space for easy growth.

    Toronto Toronto | Aqualuna at Bayside | 61.87m | 18s | Tridel | 3XN

I never really acknowledged the vertical waves in the thickness of the railings, but my god does it ever look good.

    Toronto Toronto | The One | 328.4m | 91s | Mizrahi Developments | Foster + Partners

I'm going to need a pic of it from Olcott, NY, the famous spot that shows the curvature of the earth: This picture was taken by James Montanus. You can clearly see Aura to the right of the cloud, One Bloor towards the right edge of the skyline, and the last thing little on the right being the...

Can confirm it's a stormwater pond. Collects water from the Spring Creek neighbourhood to the north, and drains into Grindstone Creek, which runs along the south side of this development.
