I have a drone as well and could contribute to some photos/video, but I was not aware that we could (legally) fly over the Portlands given the flight paths coming in to Billy Bishop? In fact my understanding was nothing over 150m in Toronto was allowed. Is this not the case?

Jesus, what year do these developers live in? I feel like I went back in time a few decades. Looks like a 1980's or 90's North York design.

What a nice roofline for solar power. Unobscured, directly south facing. If that's not part of the plan, perhaps it should be?

Wow, I walk by Pape all the time, and never noticed construction had started anywhere, but along Danforth. I'll need to get my eyes checked.

Has this increased the capacity from last year, with so many seats sitting closer to the action?

Maybe permits should be a bit more progressive then. Or priced according to means and scale. I mean if dev charges are being refunded (aka extra profits for developers and truly nothing else), perhaps the city should consider ensuring infrastructure at least around each development, is paid by...

It's all so kitschy that I'd prefer it wasn't there at all. Are they calling this their art contribution? If so, it's a new low. Instead of this nonsense, they should have focused on the 'form' of the buildings, which look so janky and unimpressive.

Sort of related, where are the entry and exit points for the boring machines for this line? Am I right to assume one is Exhibition Station, and the other is somewhere in Corktown?

The Bgobgo light. Has a nice ring to it! It is nice to see these older structures of importance lit up properly. I hope something similar is done in the portlands with the eastern silo.

Personally I love WFH, which I am sure is the catalyst for the lack of lease up here... but I was recently visiting fam in Switzerland and I asked how the post-covid office world is there, and they basically told me almost everyone is back to the offices. There was really no debate. It's just...

I haven't been out much lately. I'm ready to paint the town red, and happy to start here. Anyone want to join?

Toronto Toronto | Michael Garron Hospital, Toronto East Health Network | ?m | 8s | Infrastructure Ontar | Diamond Schmitt

Hospitals are the one type of building where if heritage is an encumbrance to good medical service, conserving it takes second priority to ensuring function and high quality service levels. I've been in this hospital a bunch of times, and I've been in hospitals as a patient for over a year of...

We should have a giant raccoon instead gnawing on a hydro wire. It’s much more “us”.

It’s bitterly cold outside at this moment, but If you dress for it, it’s totally fine. There is plenty of street use by pedestrians when it’s cold in Toronto, this mall will be no different, and certainly along the east-west paths within the mall, you will in fact be more sheltered from the...

I’ve always wondered why we don’t have the asphalt meet the lip of the concrete curbs. Is there a good reason this is the case on new roads in Toronto?
