A second relatively large ball park for yeg is definitely a bold choice.

So this is actually under construction? I definitely never thought this would ever start getting built.

As a thousandaire I definitely don't have a desire to leave Edmonton, in fact I really enjoy it here and think this neighborhood is a great place to live. That being said I definitely get that a condo in Edmonton isn't high on a millionaires wish list and I don't really get how there would be...

From the link, renderings look pretty good although judging by the setting of the building I feel like its more of a placeholder rendering than anything else.

    Miscellaneous

The Costco has been open for a couple of years now and the smallish parking lot thats built so far seems to handle it just fine, its a Costco business centre so the traffic isn't as crazy as a normal Costco.

With the Parks topping out, unless I’m missing one, I’m pretty sure this is the only tower currently going up. So 20 floors is disappointing in that sense, but also probably as high as would be appropriate for the area

Just don't mention that the finishes are essentially the same as the mercury block

Edmonton METS Plan (1969 Historical Freeway Plan)

I’ve never seen traffic be an issue at that hairpin turn, so while it’s definitely not the perfect intersection for driving I think it is completely fine considering how difficult it would be to make any sort of improvement. Plus I love the quirky charm that turn gives to one of our main roads...

Manchester Square has the photo shoot boost, and those spaces are still half empty. Its a different space in a somewhat similar area so its not a one for one comparison, however spots like that with huge draws for instagram don't always mean successful businesses.

That seems like an ambitious amount to try and lease out, the restaurant business is in a really tough spot since COVID, and retail has been in a tough spot for a while.

It was also meant as a joke though.

By the time phase 8 is built phase 1 will be dated.

Im also curious about this because the sidewalk covering at the leston site on 116th was also removed, that ones at a similar stage, work hasn’t stopped either

I have a tough time believing that there's no windows but that's what it looks like in the floor plan. If that is somehow legal I still couldn't see anyone wanting to rent it unless rent was incredibly cheap.

There is lots of vacant new retail space in the area so it doesn't surprise me that they didn't go heavy with the CRU's

unless they've had a miraculous breakthrough in technology and engineering then no.

    Edmonton | Edmonton Motors Lands Redevelopment | 170.07m | 56s | Pangman

Anyone hoping for spring action on this site will be disappointed to hear that it looks like Revolution Cycle (I think that's who it was but it could be a different company) is setting up some sore of shop in the East dealership building. Lots of racks for bikes and other displays in the windows.

    Edmonton Skyline

even much larger cities than Raleigh and Milwaukee in the US have next to no high rise housing. For example: Phoenix population ~5million and Atlanta population ~6 million Our skyline is very impressive for the size of the city, but that's probably also contributing to the amount of undeveloped...
