    TTC: Other Items (catch all)

They most certainly weren't released. Don't spread fear about things that didn't happen.

    Richmond Hill Toronto | Yonge Line 1 North Subway Extension | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx

It makes it easier to go underneath buildings too.

Sheppard Line 4 Subway Extension (Proposed)

Why would it merge at all? Instead of just continuing into the yard?

Sheppard Line 4 Subway Extension (Proposed)

SSE is done like dinner. I was thinking north of Sheppard East station - or beyond any existing terminus. (I don't advocate this), but you could take Line 4 to Agincourt/Kennedy, curve it south to Scarborough Centre, curve it back north to McCowan East/Sheppard. curve it back south to...

Sheppard Line 4 Subway Extension (Proposed)

Indeed! And nothing stopping them completely changing their mind later. Recall the Green line in Montreal. Everyone keeps talking about Lionel-Groulx (the first station past Atwater) being so great. But that was never the plan. Originally it was built on the assumption going to keep going west...

Sheppard Line 4 Subway Extension (Proposed)

They've pretty much always designed a terminus with an extension in mind. Though that didn't really help at Kennedy, as they are ripping up the tunnel east of the platform, to drop it deeper, to get it to the elevation of bore tunnels, and to build the two-level structure for the storage track...

    General railway discussions

Once we get hourly GO at Niagara Falls, it might simply be better for everyone to terminate the New York train at Niagara Falls (Ontario) station, and have everyone clear there, similar to how the do at Vancouver and (I assume) at Montreal Central, where they run non-stop after crossing the border.

Sheppard Line 4 Subway Extension (Proposed)

That ship sailed. The station box for Sheppard East is in line with McCowan. Had they built it on a 45-degree, and planned ahead, they could have pulled it off. But we are stuck with another Bloor-Yonge like cross-over ... if we are lucky. Perhaps worse if Line 4 is elevated at McCowan ...

Sheppard Line 4 Subway Extension (Proposed)

Why extend the DSBRT westward? Is there enough demand? And where ... back down to Ellesmere? Or shoot along the 401 to Yonge?

Sheppard Line 4 Subway Extension (Proposed)

Perhaps things have changed in the years since I posted that. Do they have a usable website for staff reports?

GO Transit: Union Station Shed Replacement & Track Upgrades (Zeidler)

Oh, back to back. I was thinking at each end of the train, which you frequently see on VIA trains. I'd still be more concerned about adjacent tracks.

GO Transit: Union Station Shed Replacement & Track Upgrades (Zeidler)

How would that ever be physically possible? The locomotives are over 300 metres from each other, and wouldn't ever provide loading on the same place. You frequently see two locomotives side-by-side. Which, if there was a problem like that, would never happen.

Sheppard Line 4 Subway Extension (Proposed)

If we spend a little on it as possible, I don't know what we build east of Don Mills then.

Spadina Streetcar Track Repairs (TTC, U/C)

The TTC's own memo on the TTC's website says that "The TTC will also use this time to conduct critical track renewal at Spadina Station". It seems to be reasonable to ask questions about trackwork. https://www.ttc.ca/about-the-ttc/projects-and-plans/Spadina-Avenue---overhead-upgrades

    Richmond Hill Toronto | Yonge Line 1 North Subway Extension | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx

The Crosslinx PPP-like contact to build the stations, energency-exits, etc., wasn't awarded until after the Eglinton tunneling was complete. For the Ontario Line, the tunnelling is part of the same contract as the stations it's running through. So not really comparable. And station...

Walking to University isn't an option?

    TTC: Other Items (catch all)

They must be really desperate for space! There's a couple of 306s already out right now at 6:40 pm! :)

So about 2 days a year these days ... 😀

GO Transit: Construction Projects (Metrolinx, various)

I wouldn't be surprised if they just terminate trains at the Richmond Hill subway station when that opens.

Spadina Streetcar Track Repairs (TTC, U/C)

A recipe for taking the University subway or Bathurst streetcar methinks.
