Those doorways aren’t for public use and will have signs/codes for whatever the room has inside it, like other non-public rooms in Union. The wayfinding document for the Bremner Concourse shows some of them.

You’ll be happy to learn that’s exactly what happens in all the GO concourses at Union, there’s an even split between train and bus departure screens and they’re always located in pairs next to each other. I wonder why nobody else brought that up:

City manages the moats: Buses and trains actually actually used to share the same departure screens! It made about as much sense as it you’d imagine (hopefully you imagine that it doesn’t make sense):

You wouldn’t think it was that crazy back in 2018:

Couple things: Sugar Daddy opened in The Market and is giving away a free 6 pack of mini doughnuts. Venegalana! is almost ready to open and we can see their menu. My Olive relocated to the Front Street Promenade from The Market.

While your points still stand, the new platforms at Union (and all of the platforms that will be extended outside of the shed after the USEP project is done) will have canopies like this: This is the new design that they’re going forward with, and was finalised 2 years ago.

As mentioned above it’s in The Market area, can’t tell what specific unit it is though, but it would be one of the grey units:

On the topic of new retailers, two business logos appeared in The Market, only one isn’t covered up though:

Some new retailers opened in the Front Street Promenade:

    GO Transit: Corridor Studies

Here’s one of the most interesting Metrolinx proposals I’ve come across in the past year; the Central Business District tunnel: If this was built it would have fundamentally changed how we travel on the GO network.

Been a while since I posted some of these:

Where are all these renderings coming from?

You can actually see a slope up from the GO side to the Ontario Line side (which will presumably be the same height the GO platforms will be in the future if they are raised for level boarding). The slope begins from the left side of the stairs.

    VIA Rail

Waiting for a specific person here to still continue saying they accidentally applied VIA Rail logos to this “Ontario Northland train”

GO Transit: Union Station Shed Replacement & Track Upgrades (Zeidler)

GO RER/Expansion service levels will be fine with the current platforms, which is being modified to be much more efficient for operations and more spacious for passengers. I’m sure VIA has been taken into account for this too. HFR though, not sure what they’ll do but if it’s going to be this...

Union with a more efficient USRC layout will never need another layer of tracks below the station (HFR excluded), but in previous proposals to add another set of platforms below Union, they would be placed under the streetcar line:

The subway doesn’t go under the tracks, the streetcars do but the subway doesn’t:

Right here, if you spend a few minutes looking at small details in the video you can see a lot of what’s planned for Union in the future: https://www.metrolinx.com/en/discover/go-expansion-in-3d
