apparently it is overlooking Donalda which is as clear as saying when people look up they will be able to see the sky.

    Toronto Toronto | Minto Yorkville Park Condos | 75.89m | 25s | Minto Group | IBI Group

I could not agree more with this statement. I usually went to Sassafraz in high school every year at Christmas during high school and didn't notice how cruddy the streets are in Yorkville. Aside from Bloor Street shopping I never really entered the neighbourhood until last summer when my...

    Metrolinx: Presto Fare Card

I used my card today on Brampton Transit and it worked flawlessly. I got a free card holder too! :) I had a negative balance on my card and wanted to top up. It took a while for the attendants at Bramalea Terminal to figure out what to do as the software is new to them, but they got it without...

    Toronto Toronto | Celebration Condominiums at Bridlewood | ?m | 11s | Malibu Investments | P + S / IBI

I worked on this development in 2008 on behalf of a citizen's group and it was very difficult to make this development feasible to the developers without the height and incorporating LEED standards. Our conclusion was almost the same.

Kristopher, you better invite us all to a party in that party room! (omg I want to live there). Does anyone know if a staff report is available for Phase I? I'm just looking for some zoning information (was it amended, taken the to OMB like Phase II). any information will do.

    Upside Down + Fuse Condos (Channington/Brownstone, 14s x2, 26s x2, Burka)

haha i know...but the title of the thread is misleading..when I read it I thought of a building similar to that of the Sears building at 222 Jarvis

    Metrolinx: Presto Fare Card

Actually Presto hired morons..they didn't run it themselves. A marketing group named Pollara did the surveys....

    Upside Down + Fuse Condos (Channington/Brownstone, 14s x2, 26s x2, Burka)

I'm sure someone has mentioned this already, but when someone names a condo "upside down condo", one holds a certain 'high' expectation for the architecture. I'm disappointed by the build-up of the naming....

what does everyone think about the fact that some historic buildings are becoming the podium for taller structures that don't come close to complementing the existing architecture and facade? Nothing annoys me more than to see a glass tower built on top of something else.

is anyone else getting tired of the point towers with glass facades and a brick podium? It is probably just me

    Toronto Toronto | Rêve | ?m | 14s | Tridel | Wallman Architects

I really like the design of this building. I like the black facade, the staggered balconies, and the design, which is (finally) different that the hideous buildings of CityPlace. Do I think it fits in with the neighbourhood? absolutely not. Reve woudl have "fit in" more with everything south of...

Toronto Toronto | The Hive: Lofts on The Queensway | 21.03m | 6s | Symmetry | Teeple Architects

for some reason I am absolutely facinated with The Hive. Aside from the bold move with the architecture, I love the floorplans of the units. I've seen a lot of units and many don't "make sense". This development looks like a winner to me..

I was also at the meeting and, to be honest, I was shocked that they did oppose this. There was nothing of value that they added to the discussion. It was the same "noise, traffic, illumination, shadows, wind tunnels, and view" concerns that we normally hear (not that I am dismissing them) and...

    Toronto Toronto | Living Shangri-La Toronto | 214.57m | 66s | Westbank | James Cheng

well in terms of the trump tower, I feel like we are getting architecturally duped compared to the trump tower in NYC and in Chicago (the latter looks like a giant middle finger but at least it is distinct). I wish that Shangri-La could have used different building materials other than...

    Toronto Toronto | Living Shangri-La Toronto | 214.57m | 66s | Westbank | James Cheng

i really wish they designed this better. I mean you are paying a cajillion dollars for it and the facade looks no different than a city place condo. My motto is "when your place of residence looks like an office tower design by VDR (*shudders*) it isn't a good sign."
