    Quebec-Windsor Corridor

quite interesting writeup. Funny the minister says "yea those costs arent realistic anymore" 25$ billion hfr only anyone? They make a note that a blended HSR/HFR is probable on different sections of the route HFR canada says that it may actually not be all-electric and battery or diesel...

Roads: Gardiner Expressway catch-all, incl. Hybrid Design (2015-onwards)

Basically because the 407 exists, every mention of a toll road in ontario at least is impossible. For example even the 412 and 418 were like $0.3/km before they were removed. the government owned highways were bad too.

Roads: Gardiner Expressway catch-all, incl. Hybrid Design (2015-onwards)

https://globalnews.ca/news/10758173/ontario-transportation-legislation-gridlock-focus/ While its not for sure, the article mentions double decking the gardiner, or tunneling it. Either way, this thing is going to suck up billions more to "fix" congestion Im already rolling my eyes edit: on...

    Toronto Toronto | Ontario Line 3 | ?m | ?s

None of our BRT's are much better than a regular bus line. I dont count that as "rapid transit"

    Toronto Toronto | Ontario Line 3 | ?m | ?s

I mean sure if you build at-grade lrt of course its cheaper, but i straight disagree that makes it the option we need to continue building. Look at the crosstown thread, every day theres someone like "we should have elevated it"/ Like yea lol. Tunneling is needed, its not like we can avoid it...

    Toronto Toronto | Ontario Line 3 | ?m | ?s

ehhhh at over a billion per km? Not how i would describe it. But it is good we are finally building higher level transit again We really need to start looking at the next stage of transit expansion though

    Toronto Toronto | Ontario Line 3 | ?m | ?s

no no hes got a point, But yes the OL will have wifi, as to what degree it will be available in the tunnels vs just in stations remains to be seen. Or whether there will be cell service in the 40m deep tunnels either...

That Tzatziki place is litterally in between pape and cosburn station. Kinda weird actually, its not an exit building or whatever. Found the notice: https://assets.metrolinx.com/image/upload/v1720460363/Images/Metrolinx/OL_ConstructionNotice_SammonLaneway_v1.pdf Its for slurry storage silos...

    TTC: Other Items (catch all)

You really think people are that smart? The carbon tax exists and people literally make money from it (me included). But when have you ever heard of someone doing the math? Remember the homeownership rate of seniors is 70%. They're usually the loudest when it comes to anything tax related...

    TTC: Other Items (catch all)

Even if that was politically feasible which is really isn't, the ttc needs to drastically increase fares, does anyone else think about that $40 billion hole in the ttc state of good repair and capital upgrades as often as I do? Also both Seniors and low-income people would be very much loudly...
