Its not simply a matter of 'not liking'. Its a fundamentally bad proposal which produces no tangible civic gain. Its dependent on subsidies from the City of Toronto to create the imaginary park envisioned here, its also dependent on the City giving/selling a portion of the Front Street ROW...

Not surprising when you look at their first moves in office and their first budget. Its somewhat 'austerity' but also a large tax hike. They've done what you might expect, get the bad news out out of the way first.......... but at the same time, they've really bungled a bunch of stuff...

To be fair to Planning.........there was more to it than that.

There is no disagreement that incomes from the median down are too low. There are market adjustments (fewer temporary workers/less labour supply) as well as higher minimum wages required. There is certainly far too much poverty in this city, and a variety of social programs are also required...

I have less of a problem with $7.95 for pastry w/top tier ingredients, or that takes some real cheffing to assemble. We don't see what the Pear Ricotta cake looked like, but those certainly aren't pricey ingredients. I will give my my price reference as a slice of Rahier Opera Cake...

Agreed. Should this actually go ahead (I'd prefer it didn't).......... Non-heritage components in the base should be complimentary/sympathetic, not pastiche, but also shouldn't be jarring/distracting, you want to let the heritage shine. If one could make something work here, the tower needs...

I like the spirit of the idea, but let me play with it a bit......... How about a liberal landscaped boulevard....... in which we plant highly endangered species that will immediately qualify the boulevard for some level of environmental protection, under both provincial and federal...

Lets start with all the stats for this one: The all important elevator ratio............... @ProjectEnd 3 elevators to 391 units so one elevator to 130.33 units. Not the most atrocious we've seen, but not ideal. Ambitious ask............
