    West Edmonton Mall

The mindset of both Southgate's and Kingsway's owners at the time of the respective LRT extensions could (imo) be summarized as: "We don't want to deal with the costs of security and dealing with loitering and homeless people. Therefore, we don't want any enclosed direct link to the mall...

    West Edmonton Mall

Oh God, let's not even talk about the American Dream Mall 💀 There's a reason why the city marked this area as one of the 5 major nodes. I do believe that between WEM's aging parkades and the Elmwood townhomes site, we are going to see at least a few towers pop up around here in the next decade...

    Edmonton | 10028 - 142 STREET NW | ?m | 4s

I noticed this lot as well on my bike ride the other day. It'd be cool if these secondary corridors like 142nd start to get clusters of these buildings, then we'll really start to get some more interesting main streets.

    Edmonton | Candian Manor | 18m | 4s | Verona Developments | Dualita Architecture

The 4th and final floor has gone up!! I have to say, I really like the street presence of this 4-storey building in my neighbourhood. It really does make the street feel room-like and I think it's the perfect scale. Hoping that this can be done by next year and that a cafe opens soon after!

124 Street BIA / Westmount General Discussion

Oh this is for the two tower project here! I'm happy this is going to council, this is gonna be a huge addition to 124th. Hopefully the sites adjacent to the LRT station see some proposals in the next few years as well.

124 Street BIA / Westmount General Discussion

Is this referring to a specific site or a larger portion of 124th?

    Edmonton | Stantec Tower | 250.84m | 66s | ICE District Prop.

A Chipotle and Taco Bell would bankrupt the building 😭

Let's do both, shall we? ;)

The Mercury Block II | Hodgson Schilf Evans

Why less commercial? Maybe at first residential should be the priority to build a bit of a base for commercial in the area, but then mixed-use buildings could really activate the area imo.

    Edmonton | Jasper House | 108m | ?s

This block is really becoming a nucleus for development along Jasper. I wouldn't be surprised if a couple more tower proposals appear in the new few years on nearby lots.

    10921 - JASPER AVENUE NW -

I mean, trains are objectively the most based form of transport so 🤷‍♂️

Times Square at Century Park | ?m | 6s | ProCura Real Estate | Pelli Clarke Pelli

Okay but are there two threads for this project?? 😭 Could a mod fix this?

    The Parks | 146.91m | 45s | 35s | 13s | Pangman | Hariri Pontarini

Look, I think we're all at some level of being peeved about the continued lack of storefront activation along Edmonton's main streets, especially Jasper Ave. I don't think anyone here is "applauding" murals, either. We could all be on here expressing our grief about Edmonton's perceived lack...

    Maclab Garneau | Laurent | Eleanor | 98.14m | 30s | Maclab Development

Maclab is such a goated developer. I really hope they can at least do a couple more towers on the north side of the river as well, or if anything further add to the Garneau skyline

    Windsor Park 118 Street DC2 - 6 storeys

Replace the strip mall and Mormon school with some mixed-use + a couple of projects on the south side of 87th, replant those boulevard trees, and you have an nice urban boulevard here 👌 If only the road itself wasn't stroad-y...

    Edmonton | Windsor Terrace | ?m | 12s | Pagaro Investments | Hodgson Schilf Evans

First of all, here's a hard reality which many seem to forget for some reason: Unless you live in an infill home completely built and financed by yourself, your house was built by a developer. Developers are who build the vast majority of our housing, no matter if its a single detached home or...

Village At Britannia (10157 - 160 STREET NW)

I dunno, I think that Jasper Place might be seeing big changes soon. It's a pretty affordable area, there's a lot of potential and a lot of sites prime for redevelopment, and the LRT may just be the catalyst for a big boom in infill.

ETS Bus and General Transit Improvements

This entire issue is a symptom of the way our society has viewed and continues to view public transit. It is always held to an unfair standard in comparison to cars and roadways specifically. Most people who live here think transit is an unnecessary social welfare system that, somehow at the...

Village At Britannia (10157 - 160 STREET NW)

I mean hey, at least it's a mixed-use building with (hopefully) affordable rent 🤷‍♂️ Jasper Place should be seeing more development as the LRT gets closer to completion, and it'd be cool if it's more 4/1s and 5/1s with commercial spaces (and better designs ofc lol)
