A bit of good news for EXO. https://montrealgazette.com/news/local-news/lucien-lallier-train-station-work-delayed-but-its-still-slated-to-reopen-this-fall

GO Transit: Service thread (including extensions)

Having some kind of higher order transit connection from West Harbour GO to downtown would definitely make downtown Hamilton more attractive for office tower development. The same argument could be made for downtown Mississauga. It'll be interesting to see if the Hurontario line makes downtown...

GO Transit: Service thread (including extensions)

The lack of service on the Milton line has nothing to do with parking garages, and everything to do with CPKC owning the tracks.

GO Transit: Service thread (including extensions)

A lot of people who live further west in areas like Stoney Creek drive past West Harbour to get to Aldershot. The culprit being lack of parking at West Harbour. This is why it's good that Confederation station is getting built. But I have a feeling it won't be long before Confederation's parking...

It would have to be elevated over the CPKC line. That would be fairly high. Then, from Don Mills, you would bring the tracks back down to at-grade before reaching the Don Valley Parkway. That would be a steep drop.

GO Transit: Service thread (including extensions)

Hypothetical. We don't have any idea how MX would implement paid parking, so I won't argue this. They actually are. A lot of people on the Reddit GO forums complaining about lack of parking at station like Long Branch, etc. I'm not saying I agree with them, but it's something to consider if GO...

GO Transit: Service thread (including extensions)

GO transit does a good job of taking cars off the highway. But it's not responsible for taking cars off of local roads. That the municipalities responsibility. I guess my argument is; paid parking shouldn't be implemented until municipalities figure out how to improve their buses.

Considering construction had already begun on an Eglington subway and was cancelled, it's not as "wishful" as you may think.

The Eglington LRT will at some point be replaced with a subway just like the Scarborough RT was.

GO Transit: Service thread (including extensions)

I'm not entirely supportive of paid parking for GO station. Ridership will take a hit, and people will just drive to their destination instead. They'll leave earlier to compensate for traffic. If implemented, parking should remain free during off-peak hours and weekends. I've heard many people...

    VIA Rail

But it was interesting to read that after the "winter issues" with the first batch of Chargers, Amtrak demanded from Siemens what's essentially a lifetime warranty on just about every future Charger sold to them. And now every other customer (MARC, EXO, etc.) is demanding the same thing from...

    VIA Rail

Is VIA rail having reliability issues with the Chargers? What about the recent break down in Quebec? I stumbled across this reddit thread and found it to be an insightful read.

    General railway discussions

Thought this was interesting. Wabtec testing out a battery powered freight locomotive. I wonder if Wabtec can perfect this technology could they come out with a battery powered MPIExpress locomotive? Perhaps GO could have electric trains without overhead wires? The second half of the video was...

    Hamilton Toronto | Hamilton Line B LRT | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx

It's just poor wording. Probably referring to GO improvements. Similar situation to when that Mississauga MPP misspoke about the new residential development on Lakeshore and said it would be connected to "a new GO station" and everyone thought he was referring to Leaside. But what he really...

Lol! The government doesn't bribe CN/CPKC. CN/CPKC bribe the government.

Roads: Gardiner Expressway catch-all, incl. Hybrid Design (2015-onwards)

Between the Gardiner getting rebuilt, the new track being laid on the Lakeshore West, and the new Exhibition station, this part of Toronto is going to look very good. Probably better than it ever has. What going to happen to the storage facility located directly underneath the Gardiner? Is that...

https://montreal.ctvnews.ca/concerns-about-future-of-vaudreuil-hudson-exo-line-after-rem-opens-in-west-island-1.7096584 Montreal West mayor says having less frequency, fewer trains is good for public safety. Huh? I mean, technically he's right, I suppose. But doesn't seem to be a worthy...
