    Richmond Hill Toronto | Yonge Line 1 North Subway Extension | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx

A stretch of this line is suppose to run parallel with CN's Bala sub. Is this going to look similar to how East Harbour is setup with Lakeshore East? Could this remove space for MX to potentially law down their own ROW for GO trains running parallel with CN's tracks?

GO Transit: Construction Projects (Metrolinx, various)

Which I imagine CPKC didn't want to do unless they were finacially compensated. This would have been incorporated into the cost of constructing UPX.

    Finch West Line 6 LRT

See, this is what happens when these LRT's approach their "eventual" completion. The goal posts start shifting. "It was never meant to be rapid." "It won't take many cars off the road" Fairly certain I can pull up older documentation, assessments and promotional pieces from the early 2010's...

    Cycling infrastructure (Separated bike lanes)

To be fair, cars have given up driving on the right lanes due to street side patios in the summer time, and curbside parking. Where would you add bike lanes in this situation...

    Finch West Line 6 LRT

It's not just Toronto. It's Ontario wide. I rode the ION for the first time last weekend, and I was less than impressed with it. Long stretches of the line we didn't go more than 15km/h. The worst offending part of the track being at the intersection of Courtland Ave E & Hayward Ave. The train...

    Finch West Line 6 LRT

At this point we'd have been better of having built bus lanes along Finch ala Kingston st, style. "It's faster than buses stuck in rush hour traffic." Yeah, so? Was it worth the billions of dollars just to shave a couple minutes off a trip during rush hour? "LRTs have higher capacity than a...

GO Transit: Construction Projects (Metrolinx, various)

I read on this forum a while back that the UP express cost a lot of money to construct because CP charged MX "an arm & a leg" to construct the UP express/ Kitchener line, running parallel with the MActier. I'm assuming the stretch of track from Weston to the Junction.

GO Transit: Construction Projects (Metrolinx, various)

What does CN stand to gain from working on passenger rail projects? Why would they dedicate their own time, man power to working on this project? Is MX paying them? Is this a gesture of good will? Asking out of curiosity.

    Toronto Toronto | Crosstown LRT | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx | Arcadis

MX should just get back to the basics and focus on the GO trains and buses. Leave the subway construction to the TTC.

GO Transit: Construction Projects (Metrolinx, various)

CN logo on the equipment. I'm assuming, because this stretch of track is owned by CN, that CN is responsible for construction of this project? Or is MX merely leasing out their equipment?

GO Transit: Service thread (including extensions)

Sometimes I wonder if it would make sense for MX to run a 6 coach train back & forth between Union and Oriole throughout the day. Quick and easy access to the 401 for P&Rer's and the Sheppard line. It would definitely make more sense if MX were to purchase the Leaside Spur. EDIT: Forgive me for...

    Cycling infrastructure (Separated bike lanes)

The multiuse path is noticeably wider than the sidewalk that was originally there. But it couldn't have been more than 2-3ft wider.

    Toronto Toronto | Union Station Revitalization | ?m | ?s | City of Toronto | NORR

Interesting theory. I would counter that places like Vancouver share a somewhat similar migration pattern as Australia, (Vancouver has a large Hong Kong population) yet outside of the Sky Train, remains quite auto-centric.

GO Transit: Construction Projects (Metrolinx, various)

Great to see. I was at West Harbour last Saturday and was disappointed to see no signs of construction. Took these photos while I was there.

    Cycling infrastructure (Separated bike lanes)

Another thing I would like to get cyclist's opinion on is the idea of converting sidewalks into multiuse paths. Oakville just converted a stretch of sidewalk on North service road between Fourth Line and Dorval Rd into a multiuse path. I'm not an avid cyclist but this feels like a half measure...

    Cycling infrastructure (Separated bike lanes)

Not a cyclist, but just curious as to UT's opinion on people who use bike lanes for jogging? https://www.google.ca/maps/@44.3444928,-79.7041261,3a,75y,315.26h,76.03t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1safg6lyRC2B4t6hrmMgZWag!2e0!7i16384!8i8192?entry=ttu&g_ep=EgoyMDI0MDkxNS4wIKXMDSoASAFQAw%3D%3D

Roads: Gardiner Expressway catch-all, incl. Hybrid Design (2015-onwards)

For all you guys complaining about having to go back to the office. Consider the thought that if you can perform your job so easily from home, then that just means your job can just as easily be outsourced. As someone who has a job that would be virtually impossible to do at home, I'm tired of...

    TTC: Major Operational Issues (Various)

And here we are in 2024 ,constructing the Ontario line to have sharp, curved corners from East Harbour to Moss Park. -Hamilton LRT (Dundrun st.) -GO Bowmanville Extension Metrolinx loves to make sure our trains are as slow as possible while increasing maintenance costs.

GO Transit: Service thread (including extensions)

Isn't this suggestion pretty much mute by the number of GO bus routes that drive on the 407? Transfer on to the subway from the 407 bus terminal.

    Montréal Transit Developments

How is this NOT worst than Ottawa? I took VIA rail from Union Station to Tremblay on only one train. You're saying I have to switch from one VIA rail train to another in the middle of Montreal to continue on from Union Station to QC? That's a big problem. I would rather fly than take the train...
