Yeah, I mean, Dreeshen's statement (trying to somehow rewrite history and blame Nenshi for the death of the project) kind of tells you what drives the UCP: trying to score "wins" at the expense of their enemies. Albertans are the collateral damage.
To Smith, there are three tiers of Albertans: At the top, UCP donors and insiders; at the second tier, UCP voters; at the third and bottom tier are the urban voters that did not vote for her party.
Foosh is not really my style, but it's very refreshing to see another clothing option downtown after years of decay on that front. And in an "urban" (i.e. not City Centre Mall) location, too! I'm actually shocked.
Danielle Smith simply doesn't like that some councilors and mayors in various municipalities in Alberta are not loyal footsoldiers in the conservative movement; it's as simple as that.
I'm not so sure about that. While the pace of construction finally seems to have picked up, there is still quite a bit of interior finishing left to be done on those guys. For example, the kitchens still need to be installed!
^When there's a big event movie that comes out (e.g. Oppenheimer, Barbie, Deadpool x Wolverine), the theater does still get quite busy (so much so that understaffing becomes a glaring issue), but it's otherwise pleasantly chill.
Plus the "new concept" that will replace the current Uccellino in early 2025. Downtown will remain well-served by Daniel Costa, and so will its westerly neighbor.
District 102 does have some business in it whenever I pop out of a movie (which would be the only time I'm up on that level of City Centre Mall). I don't go there because the prices are unappealing, though.
I had a similarly slow process with my condo a few years ago. I gave up and listed it for rent, and was immediately swamped with applications. Was quite the eye-opener to me in terms of the completely inverse markets for ownership vs. renting. Fortunately, I have wonderful tenants who take great...
^Yeah, that too! Hell, the former Blue Plate Diner could work, too, although I don't know if they want to set up shop right next to an LRT worksite right now.
