    Old Royal Alberta Museum

haha yeah there is precisely zero chance of the UCP winning this riding any time in the next 20 years. But I guess that's part of the problem when it comes to any kind of Edmonton project.

I can't find the Old RAM thread (luddite here, apologies), but there's an exciting P3 proposal to save the old RAM, involving Beljan. There should be some public news about it as soon as today. It would require the UCP to finish the abatement but not proceed to demolition, which may not happen...

Apparently the Growlery's DT location will be in the basement of the Mercer, to open in mid December. Don't hold me to the accuracy of this info though.

There is also a new coffeeshop opening in Cloverdale.

I hear that, but even if you had something here you would still have to cross an eight lane highway from Rossdale to get there. Not exactly a quaint stroll to the local coffee shop. Plus I’m betting most of Rossdale is working outside of the hood during the day. I certainly wouldn’t put my money...

Last time we went to Biera the service was so bad it was almost comical. Let's hope the space is filled quickly

Normally I would agree with you but not sure there are enough people around to make this financially viable here.

EllisDon to Lead Prairie Link High-Speed Rail Partners - Edm-RD-Cal

The thing is if you are willing to compromise on the speed you can actually use new hydrogen technology: https://www.cbc.ca/news/science/hydrogen-train-quebec-city-1.6888891 Going higher on the speedometer means you have to electrify the system and then you're looking at enormous costs. The...

^ yep. As long as it's not longer than 2 hours it'll be the fastest method of travel between the two cities and therefore inherently competitive. No need to build a complicated HSR beast of a project, imo. Double the existing tracks and you're good to go.

    10507 to 10539–124 Street NW - Casia Developments - 2 x up to 27 - Proposed

Replacing empty buildings and a daycare with hundreds of new residents will change the feel of the area? Yes it will, and thank goodness for that. Very bizarre comment from this guy.

Yup, they should switch spots :-) Freeson Brothers has a subpar cheese and deli meats selection imo and focused on meat. That would have worked better in Sherwood park and as a fancy big city boy I want my French cheese and prosciutto di Parma!

I actually like this project too. I mean, it's all in the execution of course, but I'm hopeful

Valley Line LRT | TransEd/Marigold | City of Edmonton

CP ain’t moving from downtown Calgary. That’s a non-starter, I can guarantee you. Nenshi is just being realistic there. Railways are very powerful in Canada and there is very little anyone can do to force them to do things they don’t want to. Personally I think that’s crazy and wrong, but it is...
