    Downtown

It was pretty busy at around 3-4 PM when I went! But there probably could've been more stuff there.

    Downtown

I checked out the entertainment district at Rice Howard Way, and once again, why isn’t this all weekend and a Friday?? It’s quite busy (on top of the drag festival) in this area of downtown as a result. Like it seems like a massive missed opportunity not to expand the area and scope of this.

    Edmonton | Stationlands Residential Towers | 90m | 25s | Qualico | DIALOG

Drove by here earlier and there's already banners saying "now leasing" by 101 St, did we miss something here or are they already leasing portions of the building?

Exactly. If it’s already looking promising and pretty when it’s bare bones, I’d argue that it’s going to be an in demand neighbourhood soon enough.

    Edmonton's Population

That's disappointing but also makes sense given what's been marketed. I'm hoping at least some of them end up getting an infill instead in the future.

    New Zoning Bylaw

I'm seeing some of the online reaction to the district planning and 15 min city thing and I really want to bang my head against the wall. And a lot of it are rural Canadians or non Edmontonians voicing their concerns lol

Valley Line LRT | TransEd/Marigold | City of Edmonton

Honestly now that I think about it, probably not. Unless they change the doors and make them stronger/more resistant to being tampered.

Valley Line LRT | TransEd/Marigold | City of Edmonton

Yup. Either remove them entirely or make access Arc Card dependent.

    Edmonton's Population

We had at least 2 years advanced warning that this was going to hit us next, Calgary seems less and less attractive now based on the affordability stories coming out of there. I honestly hope we're ready for it, ZBR wise. This is probably the ultimate test for us. On the upside, probably means...

    Edmonton | Blatchford Development | ?m | ?s | City of Edmonton

Honestly the more I see homes getting built here and how the neighbourhood is turning out, I actually get it. It's actually going to be a really nice place once the ball gets rolling and everything starts coming together.

    Alberta Politics

    lmao yeah no
  12. K

    Capital Line LRT

Yeah, I'm a fan of switching over to 10 min frequencies just in general for off peak and weekend service (my view on that will change once VLW opens, where I think we should move to 5-6 min on peak for weekends) but Elks/Oilers events are days where there should be increased frequency coinciding...

    Capital Line LRT

Saturday/Sunday frequencies are 15 min sadly, which is incredibly unfortunate. I'd love it if base frequencies were at 10 min but not sure if that'll change soon.

50 Street Widening & CP Rail Grade Separation

Yup, at this point if we're going to do any more grade separations, I'd rather see University Ave and 114 St than anything else

Valley Line LRT | TransEd/Marigold | City of Edmonton

In conjunction with the Oilers game, it was pretty full! I actually used the train on Saturday about an hour or so before the game and it was packed, full of Oilers fan heading downtown and Elks fans transferring at Churchill (and the occasional commuter not going to any of these lol). It was...

    LRT Safety

Ooooh okay that could explain a significant chunk of this. I will literally be the happiest forum member alive when this happens
  17. K

    LRT Safety

Yeah the APTA numbers can be extremely weird and I haven’t really seen if it’s just something different in how ETS properly records and what they send to APTA. I really just want a proper ETS statistics tableau for ridership, and I’m not sure if we’re ever gonna get that.
  18. K

    LRT Safety

Yup! 75% of 2019 ridership, that’s something that’s completely believable. 75% decrease in late night ridership? Also believable. 75% drop overall is so out there that unless you’re an anti-transit person who hasn’t taken the LRT in the last year, then you shouldn’t believe it lol
  19. K

    LRT Safety

K do they mean 75 percent lower or 75 percent of 2019 ridership? I’ve got a strong feeling it’s the latter. I’ve already seen people on Reddit blow that number out of proportion. Because 75 percent lower flies in the face of every ridership anecdote and statistic out there, including the APTA...

    New Zoning Bylaw

Eagerly awaiting the day when row homes overtake SFH in dwelling starts for this city.
