    Downtown Real Estate

This Millennial has zero interest in maintaining a yard I use under 1% of the time. And I have even less interest in a ton of square footage at the expense of a walkable, fun neighbourhood. I'm happy to hear this!

    LRT Expansion Planning

I hear you, but how do I rationalize running a line down Jasper instead of between Health Sciences and Bonnie Doon - especially when we have the Valley Line already serving 109-124 in Wihkwentowin as is?

    Rossdale

Your intention here is good. I would add something to your thought - current framing around Nations doesn't really allow us to group them as "Western Canadian". That said, if we wanted to do something framed by territory or treaty, I can see something (potentially) moving forward.

Edmonton and the play for post-secondary educational relevance

I've long hoped for strategic federal action to fund major student residences directly adjacent to campuses all across Canada. I would also pitch doing this in the form of a crown corporation so that the rental profits don't need to be optimized (meaning affordable monthly rates at leases by...

    LRT Expansion Planning

@Reecemartin - I enjoyed your video! I could see that you put a lot of intentionality into it, and you gave me thoughtful points to consider.

This framing is a very intelligent way to approach it.

I believe you. However, fighting community-scale retail will do nothing to address rush hour congestion. Although, walkable amenities near rapid transit will create an alternative to adding to traffic with another car.

Horrific to have something built in your neighbourhood so attractive that it attracts VISITORS. The horror. The congestion... /s

Can confirm - Coffee Bureau in the Mercury Block is an excellent cafe. Go check it out.

Where does one find this information?

Agree that it's important. Disagree that retaining a single vehicle lane is superior to the full park option.

    Alberta Politics

While I see the appeal of getting into the legislature in a timely fashion, Nenshi really belongs in a Calgary riding for a multitude of reasons.

I also dislike this render. Tell me this is really early and not indicative of final product?

Agreed. I've always thought that zone could get incredibly cool and very quickly with the right magic.

    Edmonton Oilers

That was 10k people at that Shania show? Amazing - it felt like there was tons of room (in a good way)

    Downtown Farmers Market

It's a fantastic, small market at this stage. There were a ton of people there relative to its size and the vendor selection is great (again, relative to its size). I left feeling optimistic that this will grow very quickly.
