Wow does this bring back memories. My mom worked in PR for the Prince Hotel in the mid-70s; I got to see the Japanese suite and we ate at the Katsura on the regular. I can't believe it's still there.

Holy mackerel, I remember those tile mosaics when I visited the Eaton Centre as a teenager.

They'd better hurry up and install the column cladding before all that lining gets blown away.

    Toronto Toronto | Concord Sky | 299m | 85s | Concord Adex | Kohn Pedersen Fox

They should apply for a depth increase instead

    Toronto Toronto | 160 Front West | 239.87m | 46s | Cadillac Fairview | AS + GG

Funny, from that vantage point at a glance, the Citi building looks like a facade for 160 Front West. Actually wouldn't be too horrendous.

Wow, can't believe they're delivering the stainless steel cladding already 🤪

Man, I can't wait to see the supercolumn/diagonal cladding go up.

Hey, that render assumes they don't get the height increase. No negative vibes allowed

They must be getting close to the first of the mechanical floors.

85 stories is the approved height; the request to increase the height to 94 stories is still under review.

Would have been better if he snapped his fingers and said "50% off"

    Toronto Toronto | The One | 328.4m | 91s | Mizrahi Developments | Foster + Partners

Yeah, I haven't actually lived in Toronto for years and I still pronounce it teh-ron-oh

So I'm looking at Benito's last picture with the diagonals in place. At what point do they remove the yellow support column?

    Toronto Toronto | The One | 328.4m | 91s | Mizrahi Developments | Foster + Partners

I don't know why, but the yellows and blues and the exterior piping on the six-storey addition give the impression of a half-finished Lego building.

    Toronto Toronto | 415 Yonge | 231m | 66s | Marwest | Kirkor Architects

Actually I don't think that building's THAT bad-looking; I don't know when it was built, but it kind of has a 50s elegance to it. There's a ton of much uglier buildings that I'd take down first.

    Toronto Toronto | The One | 328.4m | 91s | Mizrahi Developments | Foster + Partners

Somebody needs to tell that crane operator to get out of the way when Benito's taking pictures

Looking forward to seeing the rest of the diagonals installed and the support poles removed.

    Toronto Toronto | Pinnacle One Yonge | 345.5m | 105s | Pinnacle | Hariri Pontarini

It's scary how much these photos look like renders. It's like the atmosphere/reflections are just right.

    Toronto Toronto | The One | 328.4m | 91s | Mizrahi Developments | Foster + Partners

Now that I look at the rendering again, the diagonals are quite a bit more slender than the supercolumns, so I guess the steelwork in place is in fact permanent.

I saw those as well. I'm no structural engineer, but those look way too small to be the final diagonals. Will they be adding to what's in place already, or are those temporary?
