Turnout will be lower this year. Many Torontonians have not really been engaged in this race, and the stakes just don't seem as high this time when Tory seems pretty bland, non-controversial and nearly certain to coast to victory.

Yup. I'd rather vote for someone I believe in over the "electable" candidate who comes 20 points behind. To me Saron Gebresellassi getting 5% would be a bigger deal than Keesmaat getting 38% (and still losing).
