  1. Rising Mist

    Vancouver, 1001 Kingsway

I didn't notice it either. Very cool.
  2. Rising Mist

    SURREY | Evolve | ?m | 35 fl | WestStone Group | Chris Dikeakos

Not bad looking towers, but definitely generic suburban.
  3. Rising Mist

    Vancouver | Promenade at The Quay | ?m | 12s | Polygon Homes | Main Street

This one has turned out quite nice. I like the white paint on the underside of the balconies, it shows off the curves in the floor plates.
  4. Rising Mist

    Vancouver, 1001 Kingsway

Agreed, it's a nice little project.
  5. Rising Mist

    North Vancouver | 3rd and Chesterfield | ?m | 5s | Anthem | Rositch Hemphill

I know most here love skyscrapers and high-rises, but personally I like these smaller projects.
  6. Rising Mist

    Vancouver | Kings Crossing | ?m | 36s | Cressey | IBI Group

I love that glass on the corner building. Not so much the arrangement, but the way it's all large panes of glass with very little mullion profile.

That question gets asked a lot. It used to be that towers built in Eastern North America used steel more, as it was easier to source, and towers i the western North america used concrete for the same reason. These days I don't know, it seems to be a toss up.
  8. Rising Mist

    BURNABY | Triomphe | ?m | 46s | Millennium | Chris Dikeakos

    Looks nice from a distance.
  9. Rising Mist

    VANCOUVER | English Bay Residences | ?m | 25 fl | DAA

I agree. The building itself is solid but bland, the colors give it some zest. The look of it reminds me of something from the 60's or 70's. It has a kind of a retro deal going.
  10. Rising Mist

    Vancouver | The Butterfly | 179m | 57s | Westbank | Revery Architecture

Coming along nicely. This'll be fun watching this get built.
  11. Rising Mist

    Vancouver | Concord Brentwood | ?m | 55s | Concord Pacific | James KM Cheng

That must be it. This is a large project.
  12. Rising Mist

    Vancouver | 510 W Broadway | 28.35m | 7s | W.T. Leung Architect

It's probably fine, but it wouldn't be the first time machinery gave way on an edge like that. Last year in Newfoundland a port-a-potty gave way a fell over - with someone in it o_O
  13. Rising Mist

    BURNABY | Etoile Condos | ?m | 32 Fl | Millennium | Chris Dikeakos

Pretty sharp looking towers, and already under construction. ?
  14. Rising Mist

Vancouver, The Arbutus, 2880 Arbutus Street

It has a retro look, like something from the 60's I like it.
  15. Rising Mist

    Vancouver, 5740 Cambie Street

Could always use more rental units for sure.
  16. Rising Mist

    Vancouver | 1090 West Pender Street | 122.83m | 33s | BentallGreenOak | MCM Partnership

Nice to see demo happening. This building's going to be a beaut I think.
  17. Rising Mist

    Vancouver | 400 West Georgia Street | 91.74m | 24s | Westbank | Merrick Architecture

This is one of those projects where I can't decide if I love it or I don't. I won't really know until the glass and exterior materials go up. It's definitely out of the norm and funky, but at times it looks plain awkward.
  18. Rising Mist

    Vancouver, 5740 Cambie Street

Looks decent enough. Nothing earth shattering, but solid, and the scale is spot on.
