I wonder how much the rent was before the building was vacated. I know some tenants in vintage buildings like this are paying just around $1k per month in rent. That would mean the developer has to pay a rent subsidy of at least $1k/ month while the tenants live elsewhere. Delaying...- Rascacielo

Ah, so that's what JdV stands for. I think I heard some years ago they were no longer independent (although couldn't remember who bought them). I stayed at a Joie de Vivre hotel in SF over a decade ago, when they were still independent - it was great, kind of affordable luxury boutique hotel.- Rascacielo
