    Metrolinx: Presto Fare Card

Looked into Presto for the first time as Presto machines started appearing on a bus route I sometimes take. So far it looks like there is no Metropass-equivalent unlimited monthly travel capability. Is that coming? If my only choice is to get charged for individual rides, I'll be taking a lot...

The best buildings in Toronto since 1989?

Post-1989, my favourite Toronto buildings that I can presently think of: institutional/commercial: National Ballet School on Jarvis Summerhill LCBO Station residential condos: Creed Building (I think this was renovated post-1989 to its current state) 238 Davenport residential homes: Concrete...

    Toronto's best residential streets

For me, the streets that do it for me are Poplar Plains Road, Crescent Road, the part of Hudson Drive that backs onto the ravine, and most of Bennington Heights, especially with all the new modern homes on large lots.

    Toronto Toronto | The Stack at Bayview | 29.1m | 7s | The Brown Group | Kohn

I live on Hillsdale and am fine with this. 8 or 9 stories sounds about right. If they wanted 30 stories, then that would be a problem. The staggering of the upper floors should limit any overwhelming feeling at street level. It also looks much better than the hideous looking building north...

    Toronto Toronto | Ontario Line 3 | ?m | ?s

I always thought it would be great for the city to have the DRL run from Fairview Mall, south down Don Mills, past the Shops at Don Mills and the Science Centre, before somehow getting across the Don Valley to cut back to Yonge via Queen in some way. An advantage of this setup is that the DRL...

    Rob Ford's Toronto

Has there been any independent (non-family, non-lawyer, non-friend) third-party confirmation of Rob Ford actually making it to some sort of rehab facility, or are we just to take his word for it? Did he even say he was enrolling in anything, or would taking any kind of vacation count as rehab...

    New Transit Funding Sources

I don't understand Wynne's logic at all with the transit tax flip-flopping. Asking only a specific group of people to pay for the entirety of public transit infrastructure doesn't make any sense. As a middle-income earner with a family who will be affected by her decision, I had been planning...

    Sightings ...

I'm pretty sure Sundin lived on Dunvegan in Forest Hill and Doug Gilmour had one of the largest houses on Donlea in North Leaside for a little while. I used to see him walking around the area. A bunch of ex-Leafs lived in Lawrence Park too, like Darcy Tucker, and a few others I think.

    Toronto Toronto | Richmond Adelaide Centre: 111 Richmond West | ?m | 16s | Oxford Properties | Peter Dickinson

I used to work in this building before they evicted all the tenants and renovated. It wasn't particularly beautiful on the inside, but it did have a lot of character. The location is excellent too. From what I was told anecdotally at the time (and I can't confirm as being true), they couldn't...

Despite Toronto, Montreal gridlock, commuters reluctant to use transit

I can't blame anyone for not wanting to suffer through the subway experience in Toronto anymore. As a long time subway rider, the delays, overcrowding, and insufficient air conditioning have really started to wear on me so now I take one of the downtown express buses to work and pay a premium...

    Toronto | 1233 Queen East | ?m | 8s

I rode home in the new subway yesterday from King after work. The lighting and tinted windows are nice and the ride is quite smooth, but there is an unfortunate lack of hand rails. I noticed a lot of people were struggling finding places to hold onto when the train reached capacity by Queen or...
