in some ways, this building looks like 12 degree. each floor is stacking on the top and extending outside.
modern building, but just wonder how this will interact with the surrounding areas.

Love it too. Toronto's frontier-town avenues leave a lot to be desired. It's little infills such as these that are truly signs of a maturing city. More so than Trump's and the like.

Unfortunately, a lot of Toronto's avenues are lined with buildings that weren't "frontier town" at all, but over the years have been stripped of detail and renovated with little regard as to their original details, killing the effects of their design and character. Frontier towns had one storey wooden buildings with siding, which hardly seems to fit the reality here. However, it's the neglect of design, from the building owners when renovating their buildings to the city which isn't aggressive at all in improving streetscapes, that does make "frontier" seem like a fitting description. It certainly doesn't have to be this way.

This building looks good but doesn't fit in. That's alright; buildings that don't fit in can still be great additions. I'm not against it as a one-time development, but if it started a trend, I think our avenues would look more chaotic. Streetwalls should rarely be messed with.
