The City of Mississauga has received an application from Berkeley Developments, for official plan and zoning by-law amendments to permit the develop- ment of two apartment buildings, nine- and 12-storeys, totalling 494-units at 1745, 1765 and 1775 Thorny-Brae Place, near the southeast corner of Eglinton Avenue West and Mississauga Road. Berkeley has also proposed to pro- vide greenbelt lands for conservation.

It's a good location for some midrises, at two major streets and overlooking the Credit River.

Sorry to hear about your eyes adma.

I was surprised that high-rises would be proposed here... if approved these will probably be the tallest buildings on Mississauga Rd or Queen St. Even though Eglinton is a major transit corridor, this is probably not a good location for high-rises...

9 and 12 stories aren't really very high. Techincally, yeah, they're high-rises, but still. Not taller than just down the road at Eglinton & Erin Mills.

Up the road at Ried Dr, you will find same hight buildings as you enter into Streetsville. There's a few tall buildings in Streetsville also.

A must for Eglinton if there is to be major transit. All major roads in car land needs tall buildings to support transit, but not like the current one we have.

What is the point of high-density if there is no destination that people can walk to? There is nothing at Eglinton/Mississauga Rd. It is the middle of nowhere. There is still plenty of space elsewhere along Eglinton for high-rises, and same up along Queen in Streetsville..
