Yes, this project got overlooked. They've been working on it for awhile now. The space is being split into 2 units. I believe ScotiaBank is taking the eastern unit.

I hate to bring this up, but the above link mentions "Near term co-tenancy includes Apple". I believe it's the first time anyone confirmed an Apple store (within The One, I presume).

it's been strongly hinted to the point where I think everyone just accepts it's happening, even without a formal announcement.

It is a little peculiar. Makes me wonder if they are still thinking something long term. If they can assemble H&M, they would have a 1,200sm site, with probably barely enough space for a smallish tower floor plate, with this reno for the short term while approvals are achieved?
