Probably some government goof off-screen signaling to her to push back against the VERY inconvenient facts being unexpectedly presented...

Well, at least I can't see her choosing to die for her country (not choosing might happen yet - there are lots of windows around), so I guess she is a professional afterall.

I can't help but notice how annoying that host is - even through the captions.

She's a well known propagandist for Putin. She's on plenty of sanctions lists herself.

He is the only one of the panel with military experience. And weeks before the war he penned an article about how bad it would be. Run this through Google Translate and look at the date:

Thank you for posting that, it was very informative.

These people are motivated.... they remind me of Israelis, united under one cause, fighting for their homeland, freedom, language, and culture against incredible odds.

Not surprising at all. Time to send Ivan packing. First to 2014 boundaries and then right out of Ukraine.

There are conversations occurring within NATO about the very real possibility that Ukraine could even re-take Crimea later this summer once Ukrainians have even more offensive weapons in place and the Russian army is further depleted...

Losing Crimea would mean the end of Putin. Given it's significance in Russia, losing Crimea would be unforgiveable.

I think Crimea could get very dangerous. Losing their Black Sea port would be a huge strategic blow.

Possibly. If in a few months Crimea looks like it may fall to a Ukrainian offensive, I could maybe see a desperate Putin resorting to playing the tactical nuke card...

It was clearly wrong of Putin to invade the Donbas area of Ukraine in 2014 - Ukraine is a separate country with clearly defined international borders, at least since 1945. The Russian position on Crimea is SLIGHTLY less clear; Crimea became part of the Russian Empire in 1783 (it had been in the Turkish 'sphere' up to then) and it was only in 1954 that it was 'transferred' to Ukraine. To most Russians it is really still part of Russia. I suspect that most of Ukraine's allies will not 'forgive' Russia until the Donbas is returned to Ukrainian control - possibly with more local powers than other regions. If 'only' Crimea is not back under Ukrainian control I suspect 'things will return to normal'. (Or at least the new normal.)

Very good points. Also, isn't the vast majority of Crimea's population ethnically Russian? I don't recall there being a groundswell of outrage by the local citizens when Russia invaded in 2014 (not that they'd be allowed to display any...)

Crimea is always the juiciest strategic objective.
