Altree’s Hillmount project at the corner of Marlee Avenue and Hillmount Avenue in Toronto is in a low-rise residential neighbourhood surrounded by parks, retail and community amenities. It’s close to three subway stations and has a Walk Score of 98.

“I started assembling homes there a while ago and slowly but surely we put together critical mass to build a nine-storey building,” said Mandelbaum.

That map on the sign is interesting. You can build somewhat on Marlee yet on Glencairn next to a subway stop you have "neighbourhoods" and can't. Silly.

Majority of intensification options around the subway station right now are at the Glencairn & Marlee intersection, along with the Marlee corridor. There's a fair amount of retail plazas from Briar Hill to Glenpark that look ripe for redevelopment. So around 6 blocks worth altogether. Hopefully the assembly of those bungalow properties to form Altree and Chestnut Hill's projects will create traction towards more development of this nature in the area. It's unlikely we'll see anything happen on Glencairn east of the station though.

That map on the sign is interesting. You can build somewhat on Marlee yet on Glencairn next to a subway stop you have "neighbourhoods" and can't. Silly.

The definition of "neighbourhood" also seems outmoded and wrong, e.g. a community of single family detached houses. A good city neighbourhood should have a mix and variety of housing types, a practical mix of uses, density, street vitality, and transit access. Some of the city's policies preclude that sort of evolution, except on the margins of a community.

No new renderings are added to the database; however, there are two new elevation drawings uploaded. There is project information also updated in the information section. The total unit counts increased from 190 units to 219 units. The overall building heights increased from 36.00m to 40m. Finally, the total parking count increased from 115 parking spaces to 137 parking spaces.
