These two small buildings, as seen in this 2004 photo, were demolished sometime that year or in 2005.

In today's city council meeting, the city approved the purchase of a 4.6 acre piece of vacant land for parks purposes. The details of the land acquisition were not made public, but the piece of land is identified as being in ward 7, part of Lot 15 Concession 1 North of Dundas. I think this site on John St is the only site matching that size and description. Perhaps this is for the new community centre?

Good find! I suspect you're right. Either it is the site for the new community centre, or it is a replacement park if they choose to build the community centre on Yakichuk park.
